J-FRO i totally respect that analysis of spurs and i accept you know more that i do but to the outsider that is ignoring the elephant in the room.

It IS as simple as it seems. VDV IS a link man who plays off a front man. That front man isnt Defoe or Crouch and in some ways his dropping deep impacts on the role of Modric too.

He is the striker who isnt actually a striker. You have crouch and defoe who are strikers who dont score anymore. You have Bale who is not good enough to be a full back or a winger and is too fagile to be relied upon for either role.

That is why i am saying thats Spurs need to sell individual talent in order to form a team.

I understand what you mean, but that's just not how I see it. We had more chances on goal than one can imagine and that's because our strikers just haven't scored them. Link men exist for a reason, that reason being to help supply the ball to the strikers to put it in. The strikers just haven't been putting it in half the time.

And I don't see how he has affected Modders that much. He's still been an outstanding player all season despite VDV's arrival.

And I don't quite get your criticism of Bale either. Where do you get that he's not good enough to be either a full back or winger? I think he's proved countless times he is good enough and would have thought that receiving the PFA award helped to spell that out.

We really don't need to sell individual talents to form a team. If we had just scored more goals this season we wouldn't have dropped so many points. It's simple. Like my point above about the Man City and West Ham games. That's 6 points we should have got easy. But didn't purely because our strikers haven't been clinical enough. Those games like several others played in a similar fashion should have been won purely if we had just put it in when we had the opportunity to. The opporunity and chances have been there. The result just hasn't materialised. This is why we need a clear out and a fresh striker. Somebody capable of taking those chances and getting the end result. We've dropped points not through lack of team work, creativity or goal scoring opportunities. We've dropped points because we haven't put it in when we've had those chances. Chances of which have been in abundance all season.

Ive snipped for ease of reading.

The PFA award was in recognition of raping Inter Milan when they were at their weakest. Simple as that.

He is a decent attacking full back who cant defend or he is poor winger. Take your pick. Its not a million miles away from Roberto Carlos. He will always be namechecked for his attacking but i dont remember many people say "great last ditch tackle by Bale". If he is a winger give him no.11 and let us judge him on goals and crosses.

While i accept what you say about Spurs strikers i think you are making a simple situation complicated. To me it is down to the system.

Didnt Bale have the unenviable record of being on the loosing side 100% of the time he played when he played at left back for Spurs?

It was only injuries that forced the move to left wing and low and behold a average left winger is born.

You clearly have no clue. Quiet down.

I can cope with your dismissive nature. To quote that post and say i have "no clue" is at best misguided. The reality is probably a bannable comment.

To proceed with "quiet down" instead of the universally accepted "quieten down" would seem to illustrate your lack of responsiveness to alternative points of view.

Not losses no, it was something like he had never won a game in the Premier League for some stupid amount of games.

So report it. My 'points of view' on the subject have been posted several times. Will I change your opinion by posting them again? No. Like everyone else who develops an idea about a player. How someone who watches a team once in a blue moon can tell someone who watches them week in, week out what the players in that squad have been like for the season is beyond comprehension.

And I think you'll find "Quiet down" is a widely used term, so forgive me if I use it again...

–verb (used without object)
19.
to become quiet (often followed by down ).

19 eh? That number pops up all the time when you look for it......

Probably right.

What am i going to report you for? Dont be daft. Its only banter.

Its interesting how an opinion on Bale can be dismissed because im not a season ticket holder. However the opinion that Vidic "wasnt that good" is valid for every non-man utd fan in the country cos he made a mistake on TV.

Anyone who can't see the ability Vidic possesses is a numpty.

Of course.

Its really a difficult choice cos you see every Spurs game and will have a fav and the guy watching Blackpool will do the same etc etc.

I thought that regardless of how good or bad Bale is the vote was taken after he played very well so he will get more votes.

Valencia was instrumental in Utd winning the title but he hadnt played a single game when the votes were cast.

While i accept what you say about Spurs strikers i think you are making a simple situation complicated. To me it is down to the system.

But the system is more complex than that. We need a different 'type' of striker so to allow flexibility in playing different systems and to put in all the chances we make. That's my short hand way of saying it. Simple as.

The votes were placed when that was foremost in players minds and he had played well in the first half of the season.

If you disagree that is your right to an opinion. Your opinion is wrong though.

An opinion can't be wrong. What a ridiculous thing to say. What is right and what is wrong is based on fact and fiction. Opinion is based on perception and somebody's perception can not be wrong.

An average winger that made the "best right back in the world" look ridiculous. Go figure.

Says the guy who claims another persons opinion is "wrong".

Its interesting how an opinion on Bale can be dismissed because im not a season ticket holder. .

He didn't say it was because you're not a season ticket holder. He said it's because you don't watch them play every week. You don't have to be a season ticket holder to watch a team play every week, there are other means.

Sorry, i take that back - my mistake.

An opinion can easily be wrong. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but no one is entitled to be right.
