10m is more realistic, doubt we'd get more at his age, even though with his style of play he should be able to last longer at the top than strikers that rely on speed.

Why is everyone wanting to sell Berba. He was joint top goal scorer in the EPL and United's top scorer! I think he's a good asset for United and although he won't play every game (like this season) he's still a top quality striker who on his day can be amazing. Now with Scholes gone and Owen out of contract we still need him here. All depends on SAF and the player, didn't like the fact that the didn't even make the bench, thought that was a real slap in the face for your top goal scorer! I really hope that wasn't a sign for him to pack his bags. I know many people don't like the way he plays but that is his style and his game is based more on technique than raw pace and agility! If he leaves United will need to bring in at least another two strikers on top the rest they need.

I think the problem is that Berbatov appears to be a confidence player, I don't think he's the sort of player you can just leave on the bench for 5/6 matches then bring in (especially when you don't actually put him on the bench)

I like Young, think he'd do well for most of the "top" sides :)

He's a good crosser of the ball (and good from a set piece) so "could" thrive at Liverpool putting balls across for Carroll as Pigeon said to be honest, he'd do well at a club like Chelsea as well as they lack anything wide.

On his day Young can play very well, But sometimes he is anonymous.

For me as a Villa fan I just want this all sorted as soon as possible I don't want another repeat of the Milner rubbish. Especially now there is rumours/almost certain that Houllier won't be with us next season (not that I don't mind that anyway).

That's why I said we should have signed Carrol. If your going to focus on long ball football, like we undeniably do, why not get a target man to aim at? We had ruud van nistelcheese he did okay. But with small and smaller. Rooney and Herman it doesn't work the same does it?
And we are technically too deficient across our entire team to even consider ourselves as a passing/footballing team.

They call it counter attacking football, I call it long ball to avoid our midfield. Why not embrace it as opposed to pretend it doesn't happen?

I can't see how anyone can say Berba is past his prime. He's only 30! And he got the golden boot. What a load of nonsense.

Yeah, he's past his prime, the second his birthday hit he was past it. Same with Drogba, he was past it mid season, ended up with a woeful 13 goals and 15 assists, shocking season.

People have suddenly started talking such complete nonsense about age this season, its hilarious.

Giggs is 37, VDV 40, Berbatov 30, all past it because of a number.

Berbatov got twice the assists , over 50% more goals, won Utd more points, had a higher goals to minutes ratio, and has more to his game than "runs in behind and prays he's not offside" that Hernandez brings. Yet Utd fans drool over Hernandez and criticise Berbatov.

Berbatovs also FAR from a confidence player, Utd fans have been on his back for all but about 3 weeks since he joined, he's excellent week in week out. He's only had a few shocking games, far less than Hernandez or Rooney.

The problem is his fee, at 30mil people simply, and incorrectly and with no reason, expected a 25goal a season striker, despite having spent his whole career as a support striker who assists as many as he scores.

At 7.5mil, every club that doesn't put in an offer is retarded frankly. 4 year contract, play for one year, sell him for double the price at least or keep him and have a truly excellent player.

No its his lethargy that's the problem. If he was a sloth that would be fine, you see an attacks break up and Dimi throws his hands up in the air turns his back and stops

Then if the ball breaks to us he is still stood offside scratching his ass. You just can't do that. That's what the fans have seen and dislike, lazy lazy play.

The simple problem with Berbatov is that while he did indeed score 20 goals in the EPL from 24 starts and 9 sub appearances the expanded facts don't bear him out.

He scored 3 against liverpool and 5 against Blackburn. So that left him to get 12 goals in 22 starts and 9 sub appearances And he also managed 4 assists this season. While he is without doubt one of the best first touch merchants in the league, he possesses no pace and doesn't hound defenders like others do to get the ball back. The rest of the team is quite well littered with pace and we use it to good effect to break forward. When we had Ronaldo Rooney and Nani running at teams on the break there was always a sense that something might happen. When its Rooney Berba and Nani you just know he'll get the ball and slow it right down.

Talksport's been saying Young to United is completed..

Have to love silly season

Hope he goes to Liverpool tbh. Would rather the rumour about Alexis Sanchez coming to Old Trafford be true. Hopefully get Sneijder as well :D
