No he shouldn't be. But that glosses over the problem already mentioned in that Wenger has recently started to reward potential far too early.

I've never understood why so many of our young guys are on such high wages. I can understand that dissuades potential suitors but just how many really are there for young guys who have a few good games? Other clubs aren't that daft - those around us aren't going to be stupid enough to start sending offers in and the players themselves aren't going to want to head out to clubs 'beneath' us if they don't know their potential.

It seems to be money is put aside for wages and Wenger feels he has to dish it out. We must start putting a lot of the squad on performance related pay. And saving the kitty by getting rid of dross like ...here we go again..Denilson, Diaby...

The last two aren't even funny. I honestly don't get what their contribution is to the club.

How the hell can you be proud to be a city fan.
What?

I am proud to be a City fan because i have supported them all of my life through times when we were awful and won nothing and had some truly terrible players.

I stuck by them when many friends were supporting utd and now hopefully it is going to pay off.

Ok fair enough. Thought you might be one of the thousands of fans who started supporting when they came into money. My bad.

Still though if their is a team I hate, it's city for everything they stand for.

Yep, there's not much potential or incentive for progression with Arsenal's wage structure currently. You go in on a high wage which no one is likely to match as a youngster but there isn't any real scop to incrementally improve it.

tbh i have not noticed a lot of people becoming City fans. I noticed a lot switch to Chelsea but they were a relatively successful team that were already Top 4 and winning trophies. I would imagine if we go on to win more these next few years we will get a few.

the thing i dislike about city fans the most is their nicked, backwards celebration

Indeed. I like how they "think" this is a new awesome celebration, iirc it's been very popular in France for a very long time.

Anyway, I don't have a real problem with City fans, they're just enjoying having money and being spoken about in the same sentences as their cross city rivals.

Biz seems to come across as a very confused and fickle fan at times :p no offence Biz, I don't mind you much these days :)

lol wtf! We haven't taken the celebration and credited it as our own. We still call it the Poznan unlike Celtic who actually renamed it! (Pretty sure they didn't have it first)

Just saw this on Twitter....
Kevin Davies will leave Bolton this summer!

To West Ham?

Im happy Berba and Owen are staying, not because they are particularly better then other players we could have signed, but because its not the area which Man Utd need to improve. Everyone could see the midfield was the problem vs Barca, so hopefully SAF did too and will sign some real quality in midfield! Unfortunately Charlie Adam definately doesnt fall into that catagory, Young would be a decent squad player, but need someone BIG! Cmon Fergie splash the cash!

A lot of stories going around tonight that we're in for Henderson.

I never really considered him as a target before today because I didn't think we'd be in the market for a £12m+ CM. I've been impressed with him and providing signing him doesn't stop us getting the winger & left back we want, I'd rather we paid an extra £5-7m to sign Henderson than Adam.

I can't see Sunderland letting him go without a fight though and I'd be worried paying much more than £15m for him though.

We don't "think" it's a new celebration at all, hence why we've named after the very people who introduced us too it! If we thought it was new do you not think we'd call it 'the City' or something? Did you think we called it 'the Poznan' because it was the first funny sounding word that popped into everyones head? It's good banter at the game and a good celebration. When you get the whole stadium doing it (even some of the Stokies joined in on their last visit) it's cracking.

Hope we set up a friendly against Lech again because it really would be a belter. Proper top to bottom full stadium Poznan

Henderson is an interesting one, what is he ..20 years old? I think he is a good solid midfielder, one of those who goes about his business, getting things done and not really getting the plaudits (little like Lucas in some ways). Young, future England international.. I'd be happy with that signing for the right price. I personally think Adam will go to Utd so I dont think he is even an option for us anyway.

(I'd prefer Honda or Defour though :D )

Chelsea having a £33 million bid for Pastore rejected. They want £44 Million! Ouch!

Ideal Chelsea signings for me:

Pastore
Neymar
Aguero
Gregory Van der Wiel

----------Torres---------
Neymar--Aguero--Sturridge
---Pastore----Ramires-----
Cole---JT----Luiz---VDW
---------Cech-----------

Dreaming I know :D.

At chelsea we really need a creative mid and pastore would fit the bill but £44mil! Too much. We should try getting modric or nasri.

Aguero will also be too expensive to represent value for money and I don't think we need him.

We also desperately need some width and I wouldn't mind us making a bid for young.

I think Sturridge and Neymar could provide width, just not the same sort that a winger would provide. They would cut inside a lot more and probably not track back much as required.
