I was estimated 3Mb and sync at 6496kbps and that's because Sky have capped me at 6496.. I see my modem reports a max rate of 7138, but I cba ringing to get it uncapped.

Indeed Sky estimated mine to be 5Mb when I joined & I currently sit at 14330kbps. Couldn't be more happier with the service, Always works when I want it to & no slow down at all!

I'd soon take slower speeds, un-throttled & un-managed than a faster service which is throttled/capped/managed to hell.

Sorry Feek I can't answer the question about using your own router. I still use the Sagem personally.

Feek.. Why bother spoofing the sky MAC address? Seems a bit preemptive.

I use a Netgear DG834v4 just fine.

In fact, do not touch it for 10 days, if you switch it off/reset it then the line training get's messed up and thinks there's a fault and lowers your speed.

Great, mine synced at 4mb and i've been rebooting it quite a lot and now it's gone down to 3mb lol

Its been about 5-7 days now and its still at 3mb, opps ?

I just figured that I might as well do it in advance so that if it's needed at some point in the future then I'm prepared.

I don't remember what happened last time I changed ISP as it was about four years ago, will the old one just stop working at some time on the day I've been quoted for activation and the new one will start?

On the day of change over an Openreach engineer will go to your exchange and swap you over. Total down time shouldn't be more than a couple of hours, if that.

Total downtime be about <5 minutes while the BT engineer yanks out the cable and runs to another floor and pops it in Sky's equipment. :p Was for me anyway when I moved from ADSL24 to Sky LLU. :D

Waiting for my sky line at the moment, the phone line itself won't be on until the 14th. Then they will start going through the process of BB. I've been quoted a line speed of about 15meg, so will be really chuffed, looking at other line stats though, I might well indeed get a full 20meg.
Currently using an o2 dongle to get online, holy hell it's crap.

I think these are the only figures I can pull out from my Draytek modem, is there any way to get a rough idea what sort of speed I'm likely to get once the migration is complete? The exchange has just been upgraded to ADSL2+ which I guess is likely to help.

need to get you off G/DMT I'd say. it can make the line more stable but you'll usually get lower speeds, and it's capped at 8meg. Sky's DLm should start to tweak the line over the next few days and move you onto ADSL2+ soon.

When I got my Sky LLU in after DLM settled down I was syncing at 11mbit and getting 1 to 1.1mb/s download speeds, however a few months on I've just had a look and i'm now syncing at 8mbit and only getting high 600's low 700k/sec download speeds. Nothing at all has changed on my end, do you think I should phone sky and see what's going on?

Sync 8096/1105

Well I'm connected, speeds are about the same as with Entanet so hopefully that will increase.

Sky set the profile at 4meg to start with. Don't turn your Router off for the next 7 days and your speed should increase.

I turned mine off quite a lot, will this have fudged up the DLM? It went down from 4 to 3 after it was on and off quite a bit.

Can i get sky to restart the DLM?

Just signed up with Sky, going live next week.

I had a black SagemCom router turn up today. Looks like a mini sky box. Any info yet on how to get my username password out so I can use my DrayTek router?

Thanks Feek. Is that the username and password I then use on my DrayTek? Did you keep the sky router installed during DLM?

I notice that site isn't the same model as what we have (assuming yours is like a mini sky box, that's a F@ST2304n). I guess it still works though?

Also, what is the admin login details for the SAGEMCOM router. Is that available?
