Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Tablet

Why is everyone so eager for this particular tablet? Isn't the TF101 just as good?

It's lighter, sleeker, thinner, PLS screen, and great build quality. In fact it's the Rolls-Royce of Honeycomb tablets. I forgot, I can hold it in one hand.

There may still be hope for some of you. From XDA:

I went to the NY City Samsung launch party and things were pretty crazy there.
Blogs and websites say this is the best Android tablet out there, so I don't see why it shouldn't be popular with Devs.... it's certainly better than anything out there.

By the way, I got one of the Samsung guys to CONFIRM me that the 4g version will have a Micro SD port on the top right. (he couldn't say it but he kinda did....with a smile... their job at the event was to push the WIFI version so he couldn't discuss Verizon products...)

Still no news on the UK release :(

Just got this from Vodafone:

An important update regarding the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1v

We’ve decided to add the slimmer Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 to our range, which will now take the place of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1v.

The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is packed full of cutting edge technology but is one of the world's slimmest Honeycomb tablets, measuring 8.6mm thick and weighing just 599g. We’ve updated our website with more details, which you can see here

We'll be in touch again soon with more information on pricing and availability.

Thank you

There are currently a lot of people getting rid of their Xoom's because there is no info what so ever on software updates for non-US Xoom getting 3.1. Australia are getting it in July and that news didn't even come from Moto themselves.

I can understand why they are getting rid, I would be getting rid of mine if I wasn't only keeping it for 6 months or so.

When the wife's Xoom arrived I was annoyed it was American at first, but then she got the 3.1 update the next day and I guess it was kind of a good thing.

Very smooth :)

Hopefully we get 3G version on release.

Also, 1.2Ghz? Exynos???? :D

but will we have to pay through the nose for contract only versions? why is a SIM socket expensive? I'd be happy with WiFi only if not for the loss of microSD.

Isn't it due to associated licensing required?

maybe, it's frustrating to see it this way. I think I read earlier that the initial hardware cost will be similar, but you are tied to a 24 month contract. Obviously it's not worth it just for an SD slot.

The 3.1 update has arrived.

Downloaded and updating slowly as we speak. :D

It get it go Settings->About Tablet->Software Update->Check for Updates.

The download is quick but the update is very slow in places.
