** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

Didn't see it coming but really excited we've signed Jones. Had my eye on him this season after last year and I reckon he's going to be a great player. Smalling is clearly the replacement for Rio and Jones will follow Vidic in a few years time. Good times! Young and a central midfielder would suit me fine for the rest of summer. :D

I'd imagine they're all just quoting Sky tbh, 12m for any combination of 3 should be a no deal IMO (well unless we're talking Brown, Obertan & Bebe)

In the current market all 4 (Gibson, Brown, O'Shea & Evans) are surely all worth at least 6m each

Depends how long each of their deals are - Brown hardly played last season (so £2-3m max imo), Evans is probably £5m max and is pretty terrible after a decent start at the club (would probably get more if he was actually English),

OShea is probably worth a little more than £6m for his versatility - Ive already stated earlier getting £6m for Gibson is probably a better deal than the similar amount we got for Richardson a few years back.

It could be just to cover off as much of the Phil Jones expenditure as quickly as possible, as any funds already earmarked are already agreed to be spent......well Im probably dreeaming but you never know lol

a confirmed goalie joining the club might come in handy :)

Yes because he can play in a lot of positions, he's not that bad a player though :o

Put it this way if N'Gog is worth 4-7m (depending on how you want to equate the Henderson deal) then 12m for those 3 is day light robbery

That all depends on your perspective though. N'gogs price went up because someone wanted him and his team didn't want to let him go. If Fergy is happy to let those three walk then the price comes down.

Nile Ranger has been told to find a new club

Really? I know he cant hit a barndoor but he's always looked a threat when I've seen him.

Not sure what's going on at Newcastle tbh, not giving Barton a new contract, Nolan refusing to sign another deal, selling Carroll last window, not great for a team trying to establish itself in the league again

You wanted to keep N'Gog? :p

With any combination of those three you would probably get less if they had longer on their contracts. I don't want to waste any more money on any of those 4 guys so the thought of watching them sit there drawing a salary is pretty undesirable.

Phil Jones could be a very good signing I reckon.

edit - anyone mentioned that Diouf might be a makeweight in the Jones deal - ie £13m + Diouf ofr Jones?

RoM has mentioned this posibility in a very recent article

United fan so couldn't care less :p

I thought Fergie had a bit of a semi over Evans though so I'm not sure if its going to be him or O'shea.

As long as there are further signings to add cover where needed i'll not lose any sleep over Gibson, Brown and o'Shea going though. Brown had the makings of a great defender but he had so many injury problems early on that its stunted his growth so to speak. Gibson has shown flashes but the rest is all just filler.

O'Shea I think polarises people. He annoys the hell out of me sometimes. Other times I'm grateful that he's able to play in about 23 different positions albeit master of none. If he has progressed as some hoped after his first season he could have been brilliant though.

I hope Tevez leaves, it will put a dent in Man City's plans as they don't have anyone on hand to replace him and new players are always a risk as to how well they will fare in the EPL.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13704323.stm Tevez on his way out then? Dirty Mercenary he is.
Wow,
BBC Sport need some new reporters.

He says he wont return on a vacation, this to me means once he is finished here he will go and never come back.
I don't blame him, who would if you have millions in the bank and your children in Argentina, Why would you come back?

Anyways i know for a fact he has just moved house to a more 'palatial' property in Alderney Edge i think it is. Why would you move house if your going to Real or Inter?

I just cannot see him leaving until his contract has finished and then he will return to Argentina as a free agent and go play for Boca.

No club (apart from Chelsea maybe) could afford to buy Tevez anyway

The value of his contract is irrelevant to the club (which doesnt help any potential bidder), so they could allow it to run down to nothing without any concern at all - and still be able to afford to buy a replacement this summer (and the new expenditure rullings for Europe qualification arent much of a concern either)

edit to be fair (according to the translation) Tevez actually says "I wont return to Manchester , not for Vacation, not for anything" - which to me has a totally different meaning to "I wont return to Manchester for a vacation"

Still probably nothing - but if the translation is accurate - he definitely wants to leave City immediately

He's said he wants to play for Boca and would take the pay cut, but they can't afford the transfer fee as it stands.

I'm sure he'd go to Inter / Barca / Real if any made a decent off (~20 million)

surprised manu are selling oshea, hes a good cover for any def or mid position, he doesnt excel at any of them but can cover fine for a couple of games.

brown and gibson wont be missed.

have manu got a keeper sorted yet?
