the earnings from a development should be, although it depends when they are completed at start generating money as well. I was also thinking City would want at least 40m for Tevez when I said they had one more year.

Tbh, I have no idea what this development includes so it's difficult to say for certain but I'm pretty sure that earnings from non-footballing related activities weren't included. E.g. Arsenal apartment sales wouldn't be included.

As for Tevez's fee. He's certainly worth ~£40m the problem with getting that sort of fee is that there are only a few clubs that are capable/willing to pay it and if they don't specifically want Tevez, you'll have to drop your asking price to open it up to more potential buyers. As it stands I can't think of an obvious bidder for Tevez.

'renting' out property which is owned by the club would generate income perfectly fine for FFP purposes, unless UEFA tweak the rules a bit. At least thats what im told.

He doesn't want to leave the club otherwise he would not be here now.
He just wants to be with his children.

If you want to leave a club you dont show up to trophy parades, help your team win a trophy, play your heart out in every game etc etc

If that is the case why is he not going back to South America? Im struggling to see how going to Spain or Italy makes him that much closer to his kids.

Tevez does 2 years and moves and gives whatever reason is required for that move to happen.

Tony Evans reporting that Spurs have bid for Downing and thats his preferred destination over LFC.

Bullet dodged? maybe .. more hilarious bidding tactics by 'Arry though .. everyone you bid for, so will we!

As a rule, revenue from non-football operations is excluded from the break-even calculation, but clause B. (k) in Annex X allows clubs to included revenue (and associated expenses) from “Operations based at, or in close proximity to, a club’s stadium and training facilities such as a hotel, restaurant, conference centre, business premises (for rental), health-care centre, other sports teams”, so long as these are closely associated with the club. Sound familiar?

Still the point is that City can't spend ridiculous amounts any more, they're not completely hamstrung but if they're going to lose Tevez they will need to get a big bloody fee in.

Agree. If they reign in their spending and can ship out the likes of SWP et al, their figures would look a lot better - still short of the ffp I'd imagine. As I've said before, I wouldn't bet my house on these regulations being enforced though.

That non-footballing stuff seems slightly odd though. Understand income from restaurants & hotels being included but what difference does it make if you're renting out offices out side the stadium or a couple of miles down the road?

Spot on, Tevez has been in England for 5 years now and only now is England suddenly a problem for him and his family? :o

Why any top 10 club would want Downing is bizarre.

No idea how Uefa have worked out what is acceptable. Maybe they were worried about City being gifted a tranche of prime real estate in Abu Dhabi?

I think they'll be allowed in to the CL even if they miss slightly, not if they are seen to be taking the mickey though, if they sell a few players and pretty much break even on transfers and miss out by a smidge then I reckon they'll be alright. Go and offer £250million for Messi and UEFA will probably crack down.

Spurs dodged the bullet that was Joe Cole thanks to Liverpool last year, and hopefully again with downing. Saying that it appears that Harry wants Joe again. It seems you have to fit either criteria of being OLD or English, preverably both to be a "goer", ideally having aready played under him before. I just cant see him delving into the depths of young European talent and taking a gamble, instead going with the tried and tested, for example VDV was a Levy buy.

Rumours are that the Jones to Man united deal involves a player as part of the package. If it's Mame Diouf, I think I will cry.

They are absolutely MILES out right now, and the last figures don't include most of the big name wage earners in the past 18 months, losing Given, RSC, SWP is going to make a dent, but not a very big one.

THey can ditch their 6-7 worst players, and the figures compared to a couple years ago will be worse.

Theres almost certainly clauses in their contracts to get paid more upon being in the champs league, which means the big earners will suck up all the extra revenue from the champs league anyway.

They've still got huge fee's to be amatorised for pretty much the next 4 seasons.

They need a Utd sized stadium and ticket prices and fully sold out to even have the slightest chance.

They can't get a 50mil a year shirt contract as Uefa will be disregarding anything thats not essentially fair market price. If Barca just got 25mil a season for it, and Spain make more in merchandising than the EPL, and Barca are the best team in the world, new entrants to the CL aren't going to be signing anything much over that a year and its simply not enough.

As for what can be made, stuff on land basically on the doorstep, on the same developement as the stadium looks like it will count, but you can't fit a whole lot of developement right on the doorstep. City look to be sticking a gym on site basically, but again if the numbers magically make this a 100mil a year gym, Uefa will call it bogus.

The thing is, no one knows if any of that matters, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if entry into the champs league when you're way over budget is just a very expensive entry fee, basically a fine, or Uefa making a bundle of cash basically. Though they might do what they've promised and deny City entry into the CL.

I'm not sure what Uefa's plan is for executive boxes at stadiums. As it is Arsenals club/executive level make HUGE sums of cash, like insane compared to the other 45-50k seats. But can City's owners give a bunch of big companys 5million a season boxes? You'd assume Uefa would rule that beyond fair market value but who knows.
