Bit disappointed with the lack of movement from us so far, both in and out.

Although if you want to believe it there will be a 'big' signing announced tomorrow.

Rumours of that Sanchez going to Barca in a swap with Bojan.
Barca also linked with De Rossi and Fab still those are some massive players in an already great team :o

Can't see Fab going maybe Sanchez and De Rossi, the latter more so.

If Man U get Nasri as well, surely that'll mean the end to Bebe and Obertan? Would have thought they would get a push into the first team some more.

I think their abject performance against non-league opposition in the FA cup firmed up in SAFs mind that they arent good enough for the first team for one reason or another.

SAF has shown he will give young/unproven players a chance so their disappearance since then speaks volumes for me.

The gap between barca and utd is still huge!!You going to need much better players to close the gap and another easy cl semi final:)

The gap between everyone and Barca is huge when they play their best though. We are adding to a team that was good enough to win the league and reach a CL final. Winning the league will always be the main priority, if we play Barca again then so be it but that shouldnt be what signings are based on.

How I envy your manager for having the balls to do that.

Reds after Honda?

Liverpool and PSG are tracking Japan star Keisuke Honda according to talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old CSKA Moscow midfielder is valued at around £8m and PSG are believed to have identified him as a top priority.

But the Reds are thought to have monitored him for some time and could open the bidding soon.

Has to be true! Would be shweeet. Honda/Mata would be best signings of summer we could do imo as i highly doubt Aquero will come to us.

On Utd's signings/potential signings: How much will the likes of De Gea, Jones, Young and possibly (unlikely imo) Nasri improve on what Utd have/had?

- De Gea's a prospect but it will be a huge ask for him to be an improvement on VDS, especially in his first season.
- Jones I think is an excellent signing but as a longterm replacement for either Ferdinand or Vidic; with Utd having those 2 and Smalling around he's not going to improve their first team unless 2 of those 3 are unavailable.
- We can argue over who's better Young, Nani or Valencia but ultimately there's not a great deal between them either way imo. So he'll add some depth to your wing options.
- Nasri's an odd one. He'll add something different to what Utd have in midfield but I'm not sure he's suited to Utd's style of play nor can I see where he'll fit into their side. I can't see him playing in the middle of a 4-4-2 which I think Utd will play for the most part. That leaves the wide positions and like Young, he wouldn't improve on what Utd have got but he'd add greater depth.

Nasri would have to play some sort of attacking central role if he joined, just how good he is at that remains to be seen.

So how would you fit him, Rooney, Hernandez and 2 wingers into the team? You'll either have to drop Hernandez and play Rooney as a lone striker in a 4-3-3 or stick Rooney on the left.

I'd be shocked if Nasri plays CM as part of a 2 man central midfield.

And are we taking these Nasri links seriously or is he just talking it up to get Arsenal to up their offer?

The Nasri links seem pretty serious, lots of places are saying he is now United's top target.

I suppose he could be paired with Fletcher in some sort of diamond 4-4-2 or just play ahead of him a bit.

With us though, its all about the squad rather than the first team. I firmly believe that its the games that the squad players play and we win that is the difference between finishing 1st rather than 2nd or 3rd.

While Young might not be markedly better than the current players in similar positions its a hell of a good situation to be able to always have a fresh player available. Similarly at the back i think the games that Smalling played in defence while Rio was out last season were absolutely instrumental in the title win. Jones will add depth to that and allow us to perhaps see the end of O'shea and Brown (good servants that they have been).

Its all about keeping things fresh and at the moment i think we have healthly young competition all over the place if these deals all go through. Add in another central midfielder and that is a formidable squad for next year, not forgetting the return of the players out on loan as well.

I'm not disagreeing. I just put it out there with all this talk of closing gaps on Barca etc.

If you do complete the signings of those 4 (providing nobody of note leaves (e.g. Nani)); Young would add depth as would Jones to a lesser extent, Nasri would add variety and De Gea is a replacement for VDS.

seriously worried if Nasri is SAF's cm of choice - Giggs can only play 1 in 3 games if we are lucky , Anderson needs to find some consistancy (when he is good , he is pretty darn good- but he can be pretty awful too and at 23 he should be better in consistancy imo) , Carrick is a decent player but never really played a forward attacking role for Utd, Fletcher has never been an out and out AM either

Feels like we are adding too much depth / choices with not enough 1st team flair - especially centrally. a lot of promise with little gauranteed quality

I suspect, and its just an opinion, that Young could prove to be a bit of a surprise. I think he could turn out to be a Dwight Yorke insofar as he will rise to the challenge of the step up, i think its been seen a little with his recent England games.

Nasri would just be a cheeky signing TBH. :D I think its unlikely but it would be interesting to see what would happen if he were to force the issue. The fee wouldnt be THAT huge for a player from a rival who has PL experience but is still young, could be interesting.

I'm not convinced Nasri's capable of playing CM as part of a 2 against a half decent team.
