He had a good goalscoring rate in a poor league with bad defenders so we valued him at £18,000,000.
Oh goody, we've signed a sex offender from Coventry.
Ah an ITK, bullet proof that![]()
You have seen him play in the centre of midfield when asked to be the strength haven't you?
Nah - another high wager good for nothing midfielder we have.
It's a pity we're losing Nasri and especially in this way. But if Diaby and Denilson wish to go and better us then I'm happy.
Not only is he more than dubious in his private life he seems to have been pretty dodgy professionally too. I think its a very poor way to treat Coventry considering they gave him a chance to revive his career.
Well going by the accumulated rumours regarding Arsenal I am fairly happy if they all go through.
IN:
Willian Borges da Silva (£4m +Denillson)
Thiago Alcantara (Fabregas Deal)
Bojan Krkic (Fabregas Deal)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£12m)
Gary Cahill (£16-18m)
Chris Samba (£12m)
Gervinho (£10m)
Eden Hazard (£20m)
OUT:
Cesc Fabregas (£30m)
Nasri (£10m)
Clichy (£5m)
Denillson (Part of Swap)
Squilachi (Peanuts)
Bender (£8m)
A net transfer of £21m. Even Wenger can't disagree with that. All we would need is a left back :/
Also if players like Hazard and Oxdale come, it could mean Arshavin and Vela, possibly Sicknote all leave as well, lowering net spend even further.
I think the new kid is a like for like replacement for Eboue to be honest. I forgot to put him in the list as well :/ If you take Cahill out of the list then we have spent even less money. We can get absolute swaths of players in positions we need without actually spending anything.
Question for the Arsenal fans, and I'm not trying to incite an argument, but purely from an arsenal fan perspective, how bad do you guys actually think it would be for your club if you lost Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy this summer and failed to replace them with players of equal standing or better
Apparently we've won the race to sign Gervinho. (Talksport )
Anyone know if he's any good, or if he's what we actually need?
Could be an indication that we are back in for him. Mancini apparently bid in January but with Tevez not making his mind up and Sneijder now not moving Mancini might move on to Pastore.Javier Pastore has said that he wants to leave Palermo but the chairman is not willing to let him leave cheaply.
I dont think Arsenal would be able to sign players of a similar quality of Fabregas and Nasri tbh and forgive me if I'm being incredibly naive but would they need to? Both Wilshire and Ramsey are ridiculously talented with bags of potential, sure the squad would need strengthening especially if the likes of Denilson and Bendtner are to leave us well but that can be done with the likes of Chamberlain etc
Like I said I may be being naive but I wouldn't be that concerned losing Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy knowing I had Wilshire, Ramsey & Gibbs ready to step in
