I think Gyan could be a positive signing for Spurs. Still need to ship some out first though and I don't see a lot of that at the moment. Hopefully Jol will take a couple of our hands, and as 'Arry said, hopefully Sunderland as well.

Well going by the accumulated rumours regarding Arsenal I am fairly happy if they all go through.

IN:
Willian Borges da Silva (£4m +Denillson)
Thiago Alcantara (Fabregas Deal)
Bojan Krkic (Fabregas Deal)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£12m)
Gary Cahill (£16-18m)
Chris Samba (£12m)
Gervinho (£10m)
Eden Hazard (£20m)

OUT:
Cesc Fabregas (£30m)
Nasri (£10m)
Clichy (£5m)
Denillson (Part of Swap)
Squilachi (Peanuts)
Bender (£8m)

A net transfer of £21m. Even Wenger can't disagree with that. All we would need is a left back :/

Also if players like Hazard and Oxdale come, it could mean Arshavin and Vela, possibly Sicknote all leave as well, lowering net spend even further.

You have seen him play in the centre of midfield when asked to be the strength haven't you?

Nah - another high wager good for nothing midfielder we have.

It's a pity we're losing Nasri and especially in this way. But if Diaby and Denilson wish to go and better us then I'm happy.

Been watching too much L1... Farm him out to a team that need some real quality and see what happens if he gets fit/first team consistently, could do wonders for his confidence or prove his a bit of a waste (Id take him in the middle of the prem)

Not only is he more than dubious in his private life he seems to have been pretty dodgy professionally too. I think its a very poor way to treat Coventry considering they gave him a chance to revive his career.

Not really a chance to play in the prem is much better than hanging about at coventry. He is a sex offender though so it'll make him ore fun to make fun of than Bardnard or Wright-Phillips...

Villa looks about the most unattractive team to manage next season too! The player sales must be to prop the club up financially, not to rebuild the team.

Question for the Arsenal fans, and I'm not trying to incite an argument, but purely from an arsenal fan perspective, how bad do you guys actually think it would be for your club if you lost Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy this summer and failed to replace them with players of equal standing or better?

I for one would be going into the next season extremely pessimistic if Spurs lost say Bale, Modric and BAE and didn't find suitable replacements for them.

EDIT: changed VDV to BAE to put it more in perspective of a defender and two midfielders going.

That's an interesting list there. On a purely speculative level I'm not 100% on whether I would accept Bojan, Alcantara and €30,000,000. If he was going to add an experienced midfielder and forward with the money from that sale I would say yes. Fabregas has to go at some point and let's be honest Barcelona is almost certainly the only team he will move to. He doesn't want to move from Arsenal in general, for any old club, he would only settle for Barcelona, where his friends and family are, so the AC Milan rumours don't affect us and don't affect the price we can get for him.

I've never seen Willian except for a few random Champions League performances, he look creative but that's about all I can remember, I've never seen Hazard play so I'm not going to sit here like an armchair expert and jizz over him, I'd take Samba over Cahill, mainly because we already have three promising CB's and then the new kid, no idea if he's any good or not though.

I think the new kid is a like for like replacement for Eboue to be honest. I forgot to put him in the list as well :/ If you take Cahill out of the list then we have spent even less money. We can get absolute swaths of players in positions we need without actually spending anything.

Indeed! I just hope Wenger's level of ambition in this window matches the fans desires and the clubs needs. Sort out a deal for Nasri pronto, demand a deadline for the decision none of this "I need more time" bull****. Get a price for Clichy and move him on quickly, then that allows us more time to get our replacements sorted out. If Fabregas wants to go then ask him, get everything sorted out as quick as possible and start rebuilding. He needs to do something he can't just sit on his hands while the rest of the teams around us are wrapping up deals for quality players.

I dont think Arsenal would be able to sign players of a similar quality of Fabregas and Nasri tbh and forgive me if I'm being incredibly naive but would they need to? Both Wilshire and Ramsey are ridiculously talented with bags of potential, sure the squad would need strengthening especially if the likes of Denilson and Bendtner are to leave us well but that can be done with the likes of Chamberlain etc

Like I said I may be being naive but I wouldn't be that concerned losing Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy knowing I had Wilshire, Ramsey & Gibbs ready to step in

Apparently we've won the race to sign Gervinho. (Talksport )

Anyone know if he's any good, or if he's what we actually need?

I'd ignore talksport, though since everybody quotes Twitter on here then....

I've heard of him because we've been linked before. I don't think he's that good.

No, very likely not.

Gervinho is good, natural wide attacker so a replacement for Bendtner imo. Need good cover for Nasri+Walcott. He's fast and a goal threat, he will be good for us imo.

We can't replace Fabregas with equal/better as we'd have to buy Iniesta/Xavi. It is interesting to see what will happen with our CAM slot, I think Wilshere could become ace there, as could Nasri. We'll see. I am fairly sure we won't lose Nasri and Fabregas though. Clichy is replaceable, that doesn't matter.

Also Willian would be so, so sexy. He's going to be realllllllly good, wouldn't surprise me to see him going to Barca though

Javier Pastore has said that he wants to leave Palermo but the chairman is not willing to let him leave cheaply.
Could be an indication that we are back in for him. Mancini apparently bid in January but with Tevez not making his mind up and Sneijder now not moving Mancini might move on to Pastore.

lol, Ramsey had a single good game all season, he was almost completely rubbish in his other games, subbed off once, or was it twice at 45minutes due to us being so bad..... though he was far from the worst player on the field, just Wenger being retarded.

You post makes literally no sense, this year the "starting" line up was likely Nasri, Song, Wilshire, Fabregas, Theo. So you lose two of those, but you'd replace them with one player, and one more already a part of that 5, can you see a hole in that theory anywhere? (5-2) +1 =5? Don't think so.

Ramsey is one for the future, he has potential, he doesn't seem ready for first team yet, and he's, honestly he'll never be in Fabregas's class, ever, Arsenal could well go our lifetimes without having someone as good as Fabregas again. Gibbs, isn't very good defensively and isn't very good offensively, he might be ok, he's one of the most injury prone players we have, if he ever plays 40 games in a season I'll be surprised, I wouldn't be surprised if he never plays more than 20 games in a season, even if he does, he hasn't shown the ability to be good enough anyway.

We need a replacement for Nasri, who is VASTLY over rated and that isn't hard, Arshavin should start ahead of him every game anyway, we need a replacement for Song, he's rubbish, we need a replacement for Cesc as he's likely off, we will not get someone as good, a very good player plus improving the other 3 spots is more than good enough though. We need a replacement for Theo, he's inept, stupid, and rubbish.

One of those can be sorted by going back to 4-4-2, Wenger simply doesn't know how to make a midfield 5 work, defensively or offensively, so why bother.
