ROFL!! :D Reigned by e-mail

Birmingham City Football Club can confirm that Alex McLeish has resigned as manager.

Acting chairman Peter Pannu received an e-mail resignation from McLeish earlier today while away on business in Amsterdam.

No further comment will be made at this moment in time and updates will be released in due course.

mcleish going to villa would be interesting. not only is he coming from their biggest rivals, he's pretty much 4th choice manager who has resigned to go for the job, whether they approached him or not i don't know but to resign by email is a bit cowardly.

The man is a charlatan. His entire career is based on nothing. He was average at best at Hibs and somehow got the Rangers job at which he was ok. Scotland? Birmingham? TBH he could have been sacked by Motherwell and never heard of again.

martinez would've been ideal for villa but how on earth do they expect to get a manager with the possibility of their best player going very soon and only half the revenue being given back for new player funds? embarassing really. villa fans will be irate ........ which is nice.

I really rate Martinez, seems nice and very intelligent and has somehow kept that Wigan side in the Premiership. I suppose he's paying back some of the faith they had in him though which is nice to see.

its like Newcastle go half **** at the job but still expect success? Errr.... NO! Bet Newcastle won't even see 10mil of the Carroll money on xfers, Ashley mystifies me with his "plan"

Over time I would imagine man utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, spurs, City and Pool are the biggest spenders. Spending = Success it's sad to say. You got nowhere doing a tidy well balanced job.

Look at Newcastle, Blackburn and Leeds when they spent they all either challenged or won a title.

Chairman need to get in touch with reality (and some fans) unless you are one of last seasons top 6 you WON'T be challenging for a title unless you get a wealthy backer. Because the top 6 are the ones willing to spend big bucks.

More rumours on Twitter this evening suggesting that we will sign Pato Rodriguez, could be this summers Hernandez
