****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Fitted my skinomi screen protector, fine at the top, bit wonky at the bottom, but not too bad.

Looks pretty bad, but it says it takes a few days for all the imperfections to go away. I'll see how it goes, but at the moment it looks much like a ZAGG (ie. crap). Hope it goes nice.

Also fitted an Ecell one to my gf's N8, not bad at all for the price!

Well I have Tversity Media Server installed on my computer, I can access that with the Xbox 360 and laptop. But I've tried that Allshare and it doesn't pick the server up.
Thanks to this post I checked out Allshare - and now I'm even more impressed :)

It didn't show my Tvserity server, sadly, but I do have a load of shared folders via Windows Media Player and it found them instantly. So while I can't help with your issue, I feel the need to say thanks for the heads-up about Allshare :D

To those using Folder Organiser...

I'm having an issue where all of a sudden all the desktop shortcuts I make to folders i've organised don't have a label underneath them... it worked before and now all of a sudden it's stopped adding one. Anyone else had this issue?

You can make Windows Media Player a DLNA server cant you?

So, if I done that, and used this Allshare thing (currently frozen, I didnt think it was useful) I can stream video from my PC to my phone?

i have 2 questions

1. most of the apps on android market say This app has access to (example below), does this mean it's reading/sending private information?
This application has access to the following:

  • Network communication:
    full Internet access
  • Phone calls:
    read phone state and identity
  • Storage:
modify/delete USB storage contents modify/delete SD card contents
  • System tools:
    prevent device from sleeping
Hide
  • Hardware controls:
    control vibrator
  • Network communication:
    view network state
  • System tools:
    automatically start at boot

2. what is root and what does it do?

Help! Everything on my phone has started Force Closing and I haven't done anything to cause it. Basically as it currently stands, I cannot open anything as it just Force Closes :(

Hmm very weird... what apps have you installed recently? Does literally every app you start force close? Even pre-installed system ones? Also, have you done any mods to the phone at all?

I installed a music mixer yesterday, and I have a blue theme mod but that has been installed for weeks. Everything force closes as the phone starts up, including applications that shouldn't be running. The only thing functioning is Go Launcher.

I've noticed that if you add them as shortcuts then they won't have them, but if you add them as widgets they will :)

Another update?...so much for a more unified approach..O2 still only have the KE2 Firmware.

I know, at the rate it's going I'll be flashing my phone every day! I went to KF1 yesterday and will probably wait a couple of days before moving on.

I wouldn't flash anything else till 2.3.4 is released to be honest.

Oooohhhh you're absolutely right, I must have added them as widgets initially and didn't realise, cheers! :)
