I thought Modric was loyal and happy? Why would he come out and flirt with the idea of playing for a better side?

Modrich would be a waste of money. He's good, but he isnt that good to be commanding a £30 million premium...

todays market says otherwise. are you saying he's (only!) worth £22m? remember we paid over £16m for him and he's only 25. utd have spent about £20m on someone who is far from proven (unlike modric)

Indeed, how much would a 25 year old Scholes be worth? (not that I'm saying they're equal)

I agree, in today's market Modric is easily worth £40m

Arry on talkSport saying Modric is not for sale but ultimately it's Levy's decision not Arry's

He's off then

Hes about as proven as Carrick and Berbatov were.

No way is he worth 40 million, he just isnt that good, nor is he that productive. I think Fergie would be mad to go near 30 for him.

Which Spurs won't accept, ergo he won't be sold.

I think people are forgetting Spur's pretty much bog standard reply for any of their main players is "we will sell him under no circumstances............ till we have played our game of chicken and gotten the maximum price with 7 mins left in the transfer window".

Modric is almost certain to go, unlike the Berbatov/Keane season where Spurs were making a healthy profit, Harry's "buy everyone, mean to sell others, but forget" tactic mean Spurs are set to make a loss so even more in need of money than before. Considering Redknapps entire management style is buy new players, gel new player form with what good players are in the squad, then leave the club when they stop spending heavily.

Time will tell.

Spurs finances are fine, they don't need to sell to spend, so you're talking rot.

Bit coincidental but LFC have dropped their last pre season friendly to make time to play Valencia at Anfield..
Rumours going around that its something to do with the potential Mata deal.

Time will tell.

redknapp's and levy's signings have been sound in the most part bar crouch (though without crouch we wouldn't have gotten into the cl etc) i can't knock any of them. friedel maaaaaybe but he hasn't been tried yet and he was free.

edit: i do think (like a lot of other spurs fans) the way we whored our finances about in january was embarassing but we were in desperate need of a striker who knew where the goal was
