True though.

and then he compares Nasri to Carrick (who play in completely different positions & styles on the pitch, whichever Nasri position you wish to cmpare to) - shows how much bs he spurts really

Carrick is a lot better than most give him credit for - SAF wouldnt have kept him as the core of 4 league toping sides without MC doing the majority of things correctly (and just signing a new long term contract a couple of months ago).

Whether people want to admit it or not simple fact that SAF would have got rid of him long ago if he wasnt doing what he was asked

Anderson is a good sub to have, and occasionally can control games - but its far too occasional for his amount of experience at Utd to risk a season on his performances imo , unless you mainly want to deploy a midfield 3 .....which means Chicharito OR Rooney - which just isnt gonna happen

Exactly.

This doesnt mean he is the second coming of midfielders or that we couldnt do better with a different PARTNERSHIP in midfield. However it does mean that he has a value far beyond what his detractors seem to suggest.

he's not though, not anymore and other than maybe one good season at ot, he's never really stepped up. i'm a spurs fan and i wouldn't want him back with or without modric. he's failed in what saf expected from him, others have carried him through.

Totally agree :)

You couldnt be more wrong

He may not be a flair player, (even though he set up the assist for a few wonder goals last season) majority of the time but he still does a very good job

As stated above (and been proven time and time again with other players at Utd) SAF would have shipped him out long ago if he "failed in what SAF expected of him" as much as you like to think

So we win titles with 10 players? Carrick is part of the "make a wish" foundation? I dont think so.

Did most United fans not spend all season giving Carrick abuse for being so poor and you all seemed at a loss to how he got a contract extension?

I hate Carrick with a passion, but it's fair to say I'm in the minority here. I do however like Fletcher (if we can partner him with a good AMF) and Anderson (the puppy can do no wrong).

surely its irrelevant as long as SAF doesnt think the same

SAF has probably forgotten more than all posters here put together have ever known about footy lol

Yep including the one for David Villa in the CL final

And if it had been Rio or Vidic who had been wrongfooted - no one would hardly mention it yet again, but because its MC its a stick to beat him with time and time again, in fact its fair to say that Vidic is just as often caught out by far worse players than anyone in the Barca team that night (re - regular hand ball incidents etc) but he is still a worthy captain and an excellent player for Utd

I see attention has already turned to Sandro in the media, with a price tag of £35m allegedly set for Real Madrid.

Im glad I looked back for this laugh before I go to work!!!

Dont get me wrong, he is a decent player who performed surprisingly well in a number of games last season, but that price is obscene (and Im all for teams / managers etc setting a high price for those they think are crucial to their plans....but thats above and beyond on a massive scale surely lol

there were some questioning every team selection made by fergie though
Wouldn't be carricks biggest fan nor berbatovs but have rarely questioned fergies judgement except when Gibson played so much last year:p

Glad he failed his medical with us but it's worrying he's the type of player we're looking at :(

Did Liverpool come out and say he failed? All I heard was some crap on tweeter and French press which was latter changed due to the player speaking

dint think he a first teamer but your squad needed back up also. From what I understand we still going to keep jonas this is to give him kick up the arse.

Am glad to see we getting in back up. With N.Talyor set to sign anyday. Our bench was full of teenagers last season

Carrick was in the right place to cut out the initial pass to Villa, tried to pass it to Evra who was in space on the left but Nani cut it out and gave the ball away, leading to the goal. How is that Carrick's fault? There should be a basic aptitude and comprehension test to get on this forum these days.

I see it is getting all very Pantomime down at White Hart Lane with Daniel Levy again.

I am predicting another summer of Under no Circumstances will Modric be sold, Over my Dead Body nonsense to we will only accept bids of £(Insert Ridiculous amounts here)Million Pounds to he has let us and the fans down massively and we will begrudgingly let him go around the final day of the transfer Window.

This will pan out in Berbatov fashion be it to United or Chelsea.

£35m for Sandro and £22m for Modric, I think the world's gone crazy. If Real value Sandro that much then Modric would need to have a World Record offer to be sold - he is 10x the player Sandro is.

Glad Levy has made it clear Modders isn't leaving though.
