Since when did we have a marketing team in London? I can imagine we have one at OT in Manchester but in London? I'm not saying we don't have one and that I don't believe you but that I've not heard of this before. :)

Makes sense. If they've got potential then any financial risk in signing them would probably be repaid by massive potential for commercial income from Asian fans buying up Utd merchandise.

We opened London Offices last year iirc.

Manchester United are moving the club's London offices to Mayfair, one of the poshest addresses in the capital.

The Reds have agreed a deal to occupy 11,500 sq ft of luxurious new office space in the heart of the West End to expand their commercial operations.

They will pay rent of almost £80 per sq ft – £920,000 a year – with the exact location being kept secret.

The club previously had a 45-strong team located in Pall Mall, having set up there more than three years ago.

The team was put together under commercial director Richard Arnold to secure new sponsorship deals from around the world. But the operation has grown, prompting the move to Monopoly’s most exclusive area.

Mayfair is home to the United States embassy, the Royal Academy of Arts and five-star hotel The Dorchester.

United bosses say London is a more practical base for overseas companies travelling to Britain for sponsorship talks.

Under Arnold, United say commercial revenues have increased from £42.5m a year to £80m.

A United spokesman said: “There is nothing going from Manchester, it’s only the people already in London moving to a new address because they have outgrown the old one.

“The office in Mayfair is now more suitable. The deal has only just been signed and the plan is to move into the new office by the end of this year.”

earlier than I thought to be honest.

I never did or would suggest that we would lose a single game because of one player unless they had actively run through our own team and put the ball in the net. I honestly wouldn't put him at "vital" though he has played a lot of games for us since he joined. I think had OH not had terrible luck with his knees Carrick would have not played as often regardless of playing slightly different roles in the team.

How the **** you can compare Gibson (<60 apps in roughly the same time frame, only 1/2 of which were EPL games) is just laughable (apart from the fact that they play completely different roles in totally different areas of the pitch)

If he EVER wins even one EPL medal outside Utd (and he only JUST merited one this year from number of performances) it will be a miracle

I don't actually recall comparing Gibson to Carrick apart from saying that he can also play a blinding pass occasionally. I can say the same of Rooney and Beckham but quite obviously that's not comparing them as players. They are different players and play different roles. My point was that if Gibson was going to stay at United long term he would have shown more by now and he hasn't

Fabregas I would agree with you on, and when he signed for Chelsea I was gutted Essien hadnt been captured by Utd, but this season esp I think Essien has lost a lot fo what he was about and he just isnt the same player he was just a few years ago (very probably down to some bad injuries he has suffered)

I agree, I was gutted when Essien went to Chelsea and it seemed at the time that whoever we were linked with just ended up going there. 08/09 and 09/10 were bad season with only 19/21 appearances for them due to doing his Cruciate in 08 and then something else in 09 btho while playing for his country interestingly. Being injured certainly disrupted Chelsea this year as they only won 1 game in 9 while he was out.

It'll be interesting to see if he has an injury free season next year and if he can get back to his best. Part of me hopes not for our sakes!

Well it seems this summers biggest transfer story has come to an end and Sanchez will sign for Barca tomorrow, probably ending all interest from them in Rossi and Fabregas for this summer at least.

Modric I dont believe there has been any significant developments today, the latest as I understand is what Arry/Levy said yesterday and he's not for sale.

There's a vid going around online of Sneijder asked by a fan as to whether he's signing for United to which his answer is we'll see, we'll see.....

I still want to see Rossi in a Utd shirt again. He's such a legend. But not sure we need him with Hernandez now.

i was told that rossi had a clause in his contract when he left united, that we get first refusal at a cut price

From what I've read that only related to his initial contract with Villarreal and when he signed an improved deal that option was taken away.

Regardless of which and although he's a great little player I dont see where Rossi would fit in at United with Rooney & Hernandez, shame really because when he was sold there was Rooney & Tevez ahead of him, Rooney and Rossi could form a frightening partnership.... ah well Rooney & Chicharito aren't doing too bad themselves are they

Launching a countdown to an "exclusive" announcement at 7pm U.K. time on the social networking site Twitter, Triple S went on to state:

"Ladies & Gents, the identity of the mystery player that Liverpool Football Club have agreed personal terms with is Charles N'Zogbia.

"A fee has been agreed with Wigan, personal terms have been agreed with the player's representatives & the player will undergo a medical and sign a contract when he returns from holiday. The deal is not yet 'official' but subject to a medical being passed, N'Zogbia will be a Liverpool player."

Well quoted from Triple S which i got of our official site in gossip part, Cant decide weather im happy about him or not, Whilst he can be good he can be greedy and from what ive heard other people say bit of to trouble but hell he would give us some different still so if true good luck to him

Also find it highly unlikely its true as tbh never heard of TripleS too

Rossi and Forlan both blossomed in Spain after showing little at Utd - but even now Im not sure either would be that successful coming back to EPL (well ok Forlan peaked a few years ago now, but you get the gist)

They found a league that suited them and I wish them well, but personaly think right now Utd need de Rossi much more than Rossi lol (the former another midfielder recently linked to Barca - surely they wont be able to afford him as well as Fab & Sanchez?)

BBC / (Metro) are saynig that Utd and Diarra are in talks.....really not sure about this at all (if its true of course)

While I appreciate Modric 's family is settled in London - I always thought that him saying "I want to sign for Chelsea" was more a reflection of Chelsea being the only team to have offered anything officially rather than not wanting to sign for Utd (or anyone else for that matter). Maybe its just hope .....

This window is getting really annoying - we lose out on players (in the past) due to other clubs having shown interest for longer, and yet we lose out on other players when there has been interest shown for several years by the team who only started showing interest weeks ago!!!!

Jesus....not content with taking on Bluenose McLeish, Randy seems to be sanctioning moves for Foster and Dann....I'm apathetic about those, but DO NOT bring Barry Ferguson to VP ffs!

He's been very consistant every year in the league, massively versatile, played left back, could play right back, left/right wing, played as a more defensive and a more creative central midfielder. In a fairly rubbish club with one not great striker he did incredibly well.

As for being trouble, the only thing I can remember is a manager calling him by a dumb name and fans being upset he wanted to move to a bigger club. Ambition shouldn't be looked down on, not being English I get the impression he's mostly be severely under rated in the UK so the press here, and fans tend to see his "I want to play at the top level" as him being a pratt. Where as if Messi was playing at Newcastle people would be saying he deserves to go to Chelsea/Utd.

N'zogbia is a vast upgrade from your current wingers, why Wenger hasn't gone in for him I don't know, get Gervinho, to play on the wing, when he's really a striker and completely unproven in any top league, or get N'zogbia, probably for less, who is proven in this league and top notch, cheaper too maybe......

We've been linked with Diarra for years, I'd be amazed if that was true.

Also linked with Taarabt

Should we not be aiming a little higher than this

Taarabt is a significant upgrade from Obertan, Bebe, Park(offensively, not sure what Taarabt is like on workrate/defence) and frankly, would probably be better than Valencia and Giggs at this point in his career.

Actually, Fergie would be one of the few managers who could probably sort out Taarabt's ego, I reckon.

Trouble is, did you used to get frustrated by the way Ronaldo used to be all show and terribly inconsistent end product? Or how Nani can be too selfish and unaware of the team now? Because you'll bloody hate Taarabt if you did.

Staggering

Even for you that's staggering
