This transfer thread has been rife with some absolutely stupid as **** things lately.

Mostly from Utd fans infact, although it's more prominent as there are more posters that support Utd.

With ronaldo from day one I think everybody thought he was gonna be somebody special because he was so confident and from some body who had just signed for united I didn't expect him to show boat, and do all the tricks but his end product allot of the time was poor but he was improving so fast.

Taraabt I watched allot of last year because qpr seemed to be on sky all the time , and I would say he was running the show most of the time , some of the goals he scored and created were class, but his temperament and damand for the ball and when he doesn't get the ball he spits dummy out ,has lost him allot of respect. I'd still take him over Gibson, bebe, obertan, even carrick any day because I think at a bigger club and if he sorts out his stroppyness I think he will be top player

DM, you've named a load of wingers...isn't Taarabt central? And like **** a Spurs reject is better than Park, Giggs or Valencia.

I've only seen him a few times but almost every time he seems to be running down the wing. He likes to run with the ball a lot afaik, can cross and come in and shoot. He seems to get all over the place but, pace, dribbling, high assisting, eye for a goal, good movement, not exactly a huge reputation for defensive workrate, has wide striker/winger rather than central midfielder in a demanding league writen all over him.

Staggering

Even for you that's staggering

Giggs is one of the worlds best wingers, right now, really? Valencia was by far, I mean by a mile the worst player on the pitch for Utd against Real, and simply hasn't been very good. His highest scoring season.... ever(well in this league) 5, he's got over 5 assists in a full season, once, he got 9. He's never been anything more than average, he's not young, there's little to no potential for him to improve. Taarabt is still improving, he's shown FAR more goal threat and assist potential than Valencia.

He's 22, he got 19 goals and 16 assists last season, Valencia is older(not as old as I thought) and hasn't shown any hint he could be a 10 goal a season winger. yes its hard to compare Taarabt could be crap in the premier league, he was under 20 when he played for Spurs, from how well he played you'd think he'd do pretty well in this league.

Frankly I have no idea where Valencia's reputation comes from, hope? He's done very little of anything at Utd and even less at Wigan. Nani had an excellent season this year but was still less than half as successful as Ronaldo in his best year, Nani can be conceded an excellent winger this season, Valencia's BEST season in 5 years in the league got essentially half the goals and half the assists than Nani did, thats his best season, his average over 5 seasons is frankly, for a top 4 club, pathetic. I also said Taarabt would PROBABLY do better, because he PROBABLY will be better than a not very good Valencia and a 58 year old Giggs. He's 22, has more potential than Valencia by a mile, he might turn out crap, he might be a fantastic winger for the next decade for you, theres potential there, Valencia, he won't ever be brilliant, he's 25, he's shown not even a hint of being a world class winger, not even a really good winger.

Quote from Udinese President Pozzo,

Giampaolo Pozzo , president of Udinese, spoke about the negotiations with Barcelona for Sanchez: "I must acknowledge that it is hard for us to retain important players like Sanchez .Waiting for right offer for him, but still has not arrived. The Barcelona? For now we are still far away.Sanchez is the value of 50 million euros, then you can handle and maybe insert some technical counterpart. Inler ?In the end I think that will stay with us. "

And so the price rises again. 50m? Lol. Either way, doesn't sound like this is getting concluded any time soon pending another rise in current offers on the table.

DM just...stop.

You cannot compare stats of someone in the Championship in a completely different role, to someone in the Premiership in a far more confined role.

Nah I reckon he's sown up for Barca, it's now just a case of Udinese squeezing every last Euro out of Barca and Sanchez getting the highest wage package he can.

I don't see him going anywhere else either, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see another rounds of bids (or 'talk' of another round) just before a final bump from Barca, then the concluded deal. Which would be a bit different from him signing today as we were all lead to believe.

not sure how last season fergie said there isn't any value in the Market , but this summer it's even worse and yet we are bidding

Because we need to rebuild to be able to compete with the rest of the top 6 or 7 teams. We have lost scholes and neville and have been shown up in key areas.

Excellent manager but he can't be compared with Mourinho until he wins the Champions League with Porto. Should stay with them for a few more seasons imo. They're on the way up, Chelsea are on the way down and need to replace some big names this summer.
