** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

Anyone else feel this transfer window so far has been really odd?

The way it started with Henderson to Liverpool followed by Jones and Young to United it looked like it was going to be a crazy summer but since then the only big transfer story has been Sanchez and who he's going to (obviously with United & City waiting on him once that's done things could pick up with both clubs going after other targets)

I'm somewhat surprised by the lack of movement from Liverpool (apart from Henderson), Spurs, City (apart from interest in Sanchez) & Chelsea (apart from the interest in Modric which looks like getting them no where)

United fans are reaching for the pills at the the thought that our business is done for the summer but at least we've brought in 3 players :D

Not really. Sanchez can't actually go anywhere until the 1st, so it was inevitable that the only transfers you'd see before then were between English clubs. It was always going to be fairly quiet until then.

Newcastle have signed Marveaux, it's widely reported that we've all but signed De Gea. I cant imagine clubs are standing still waiting till July 1st to start doing deals.

If the clubs I mentioned were in negotiations for players it would have been reported by now imo

Yeah its pretty meagre really. We're all waiting for that "big" signing that will be the catalyst for the rest of them. Not to mention final day of the transfer window rushing mayhem. Hopefully come july it'll pick up and we see some more activity.

The most activity seems to be coming from managerial positions atm. Chelsea still looking, Fulham lost Hughes and gained Jol, Birmingham lost McLeish, Villa lost Houllier and gained McLeish

I've been following Pault86 for a week or so now and he seems extremely confident in his "sources". He seems to think Liverpool will walk away from the Charlie Adam deal if no movement has been made by Tuesday.

Also, a cheeky laugh before I head off to bed. Pato to Liverpool with Aquaman carrying a suitcase of £35million going in the opposite direction. We can dream.

Jol going to be Fulham I think will turn out to be great move I can see him bringing success back to them over the next few seasons.

Still would not be surprised if Man Utd ended up with Sneijder. I expect De Gea to be a done deal as well as Young even though I am not his biggest fan.

Thought I'd give him a chance. Guess I'll judge him on the accuracy of the Adam deal.

In other news. ‎

#LFC arrange friendly with Valencia FC. It's just a Mata of time. In Kenny We Trust.

They finished 7th and I think they qualified for Europe. I consider that a successful season if you think about the clubs that are above them.

If Utd buy all those players they could well end up passing the 100m mark this season.

They qualified for Europe through the fair play league I think. Wouldnt quote me on that.

Remember - Euro moves cant actually happen yet, so maybe a lot of clubs are keeping their powder dry until July or later (and while its thought of as a done thing its not like de Gea move is complete yet)

I think Utd has more focus from the media because of so many retirements thru the season , (admttedly Neville carries less weight due to his lack of games the last few seasons and Rafael already being available as a replacement - but VDS and Scholes have generated a lot of column inches just themselves - and rightfully so - which possibly heightens matters somewhat.)

English youth "talent" was always likely to go early (esp with U21's playing this early in the Summer , even if that ended up being dire for England) , there is a lot of money still to be spent this summer

But looking at it the opposite way round, can you see any other major signings between British clubs still waiting to happen (exc Modric of course, which could take majority of the summer to come to an end lol)

Cant see mega transfers waiting to happen that are capable of happening before the Euro transfers start myself

@tom
Adam deal was all but finalised with us, we agreed a fee and had permission to speak to the player..
Then that .. <swear> of a chairman at Blackpool got wiff United might make a bid (they havn't though) and stalled signing off the transfer in the hope of a higher bid coming in.
Supposedly we've given them a 1 week ultimatum.

Our 'British' transfer dealings should be done by the end of the month though.

Good dea tbh.

He was surplus to our needs but looked very happy at Wolves throughout the season so I'm glad we're able to part company with both sides being happy :)

Only problem with this is that we need to offload several more players. But it they all go for roughly £5m we're only only going to be able to afford Gary Cahill, never mind Pablo Osvaldo and every other name under the sun.

I'd like to think however bad our midfield issues are they're not Charlie Adam bad :p
