****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Thought you were set on the Sensation? :p

Aye dude, had it on pre-order for the past month (since 31st May!!!) - I can't be bothered with 24month contracts (usually get bored after 2 weeks) so been waiting for it free on 18month contract (£30 per month not bad deal!) and T-Mobile playing funny beggars saying Sensation not passed quality testing yet etc (I call BS as i'm sure some t-mobile users already have it!). Awesome deal so went for the next phone in line (with the same deal) - SGSII.

Customisability should keep me busy, and the downsides versus the many upsides of the SGSII swayed me. I can live without Sense......:p

HTC still havn't got to grips with GPU hardware acceleration (too tight to pay out the spondoolees for licenses), most games (well recent decent ones) don't like the qHD display, , still locked bootloader, no signs of any decent developers onboard for it and the excessive moaning about battery life and the death grip - changed my mind.... Plus - I got bored waiting lol.

Looking forward to Quad-core, 64Gb memory, 1080p MKV capable, 720p screen, etc etc next year instead ;)

Exactly the same here Paul!

I've just done some testing.

Entry to Outlook syncs to Google Calendar and also phone.

Entry to phone syncs to Google Calendar but not to Outlook.

Google Calendar is also only syncing events to my phone calendar from 16th May 2011. Yet oddly, Google Calendar shows it's imported all my events from Outlook from 27th January 2011. Looking at Outlook, 27th January is where my events begin, so Google Calendar is exactly in line with it. Strange then why it's not syncing almost 4 months of events to my phone prior to May.

Weird.at least I'm not the only one

Its really annoying though

Had my first lockup yesterday, my son was playing Angry Birds and the phone locked solid requiring a restart, it was VERY hot so I guess it locked because of overheating.

my phone gets toasty playing angry birds,

Angry Birds, Grand Prix Story, Battleheart all heat mine up quite a bit, but Galaxy On Fire 2, Riptide and Let's Golf 2 don't.

I'm guessing the latter ones are coded to use dual-cores properly.

gah uploaded a video to youtube from the phone directly, and it's at 90 degrees for some reason? was recorded in landscape for sure! Any ideas?

I had the S1 before and with the S2 I have the same problem, in call log if I dialed one number 10 times it will show all 10 calls on the log, isn't there a way you can just have a call log similar to the HTC desire HD where you have that ability in call history and call log to have one number dialed displaying?

Do you mean have a single number, then the number of calls in brackets? Don't think the stock dialer can do this, but Go Dialer does.

10hrs 2mins usage.... 97% left :D

Only thing that changed yesterday? Went from BT Homehub 2.0 to the new 3.0 router

Will report back in a few days to see if battery has actually improved due to the router or if its just a one off.

Oh and as was said above, you can overclock it yourself... I've already done 1.45ghz though loads have done higher already.

DutchGuy - Yahoo email is synced all the time, wi-fi is on 100%, though I was in bed. Normally though I'd lose more than that overnight.

Kona786 - I clocked it at 1.45ghz purely to have a play and do a benchmark test compared to stock, its back on stock now.

1.2ghz is fast enough for everything out there and it can get hot enough as it is if say downloading a 500mb file from Gameloft. Though if the new "s3" comes out at 1.4ghz Ill have to clock it again so I dont feel left out :D

10hrs 57mins = 95% left
