** Official Thread for those attending the 2011 British Grand Prix at Silverstone **

I've rang a few event management companies selling these "Silverstone Six Hospitality" tickets and they've said that with the tickets alone I won't be able to access the centre of the circuit - I'd need the lanyard and VIP passes etc. to get to the centre...

So they are just GA tickets... and you paid GA prices for them, so go and enjoy a weekend of GA access.

Yeah I know I'm just feeling sorry for myself. The guy I bought them off advertised them as having Centre access though ("the highlight of your day") he stated. Stinks a bit that he mentioned this without researching it himself as I probably wouldn't have snapped up GA tickets anyway - as they were advertised as being seated in a spot like that gave me the reason to buy them ...

OK i've just got off the phone to Silverstone themselves and the woman I spoke to is adamant and stated clearly that all I will need to get into the Hospitality area and enjoy the VIP access is the tickets I have. I asked her three times if that was definitely correct - that I would just need to bring both tickets, and solely both tickets - no lanyards, vip passes etc. and she affirmed that that is the case and that I will be given lanyards etc. on arrival once I have presented the tickets.

And I'm still no less confused.

Here is my ticket for comparison, obviously I have the VIP passes too.

Thanks for posting, exactly the same as mine then except I don't have any of the VIP lanyards etc. - just the tickets. Will this still enable me to get into the hospitality area? I mean, what's the difference between "centre access" and the hospitality area.

I've rang Silverstone several times today and got told different things by different people, one woman says I need a lanyard to even access the "centre"... the next says all I have to bring is the ticket and I will get the VIP passes once I'm there. My brain is frazzled!! :(

edit - is there any chance you can take a pic of the full set of things / passes you've got and obviously ps out any personal details etc.?

I'm not our group organiser some I'm not sure if there is anything else but all I've got is the ticket and passes and lanyard (both pics in this thread).

Just give it a go and if you can't get in with one person, go back a few mins later and try a different person on the gate.

Free gold tickets just landed. For qualifying they are roaming stand seats so does that mean any stand? Or any seat in the stand they are for on the Sunday?

Just going for qualifying though. I feel like I miss too much on the race day... although it now looks sunny for Sunday.. hmmmmm!

Do you not have to stay within your class though for roaming? We had Gold in 2009 and we could go in the Gold or below grandstands but not the higher ones.

It looks like I've just scored one of these through a supplier :D I'll see you there ;)

Roaming means any grandstand.

And as for Race day, Grandstand seat + KangarooTV and you are sorted!

Hmm, I probably will attend a race day eventually. Not this year though. Thanks for the info, wonder landers addendum sounds about right too.

Just checked the gold stands for my roving saturday ticket.. not impressed.

In fact, think I'm going to go sit in the silver stands at copse.
