** Official Thread for those attending the 2011 British Grand Prix at Silverstone **

Well I guess I know where the "Constructors Lounge" is now! Got my VIP passes today.

Weather is looking random for the weekend. Hoping for just enough rain to make the race interesting, but not so much as to cancel the race - on the track, not on you guys :p

Hi all,

Well I booked Spa yesterday and this morning had a look at the bay for Silverstone tickets and just bought a pair... Interestingly the tickets say they have "Centre Access" and are GA ones...

Meaning we can watch the race from the centre of the track - On the picture of the tickets they also say "Silverstone Six Hospitality" ... strange because I didn't think Silverstone Six were GA tickets... and from looking at the description of them on the Silverstone website it mentions la-de-daa VIP shennanigans.

I snapped a pair up for £340.

Anyone know more about these tickets? The main thing is to get tickets for the Sunday, Centre access sounds like a cool bonus.

With the paddock now moved to the new pitlane, I assume you should be able to get into the centre of the track where the old pit and paddock are?

That's what I'm thinking...

I'm really not sure what to make of these tickets. As I say they say "Silverstone Six Hospitality" on them ... see pic below.

But I've googled what that means and it just comes up with VIP stuff that sales for around a grand each on Sunday.

I think maybe he's just taken a picture of those tickets or used someone elses' picture, or even sold those ones in a previous auction and has just used the same pic for these "General Admission with Centre access" tickets.

Anyway, like I say, centre access sounds interesting!

Anyone know if you are collecting your tickets at the circuit, what you need to take with you? I assume just the confirmation email?

Does anyone have a link to confirm where the DRS activation zones will be? I've read that it will be Wellington with the possibility of a 2nd activation zone? (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/92593) Although I can't seem to find anything official.

I don't think there is an 'official' line yet. Just what you have already heard (1 on Wellington, possibly a second with a second detection point). Full details should be due soon though.

If you have paid (or part paid) for them, the card you used too.

How likely is it that the current forecast for Friday will be wrong :o :(

As my first experience of F1 in person, I'll be gutted if the cars hang back in the garages, or don't get close to full chat when they do go out.
