Wouldnt be surprised if someone didn't do something fun with it. A few years ago when I wad there the marshals at Club set up a table on the apex for lunch with a table cloth, china plates, and one guy dressed as a butler! Might have a picture somewhere.

Silverstone planning another big upgrade.

Silverstone bosses hope to sign off plans for a major redevelopment plan of the home of the British Grand Prix on Friday, as they continue a push to find investors.

With the second phase of Silverstone's redevelopment - focused around the new £28 million 'wing' pits and paddock complex - now complete, attention is shifting to a wider update that will include hotels, a new kart track, music arenas, car showrooms and experience centres.

OK its nothing like abu dhabi

Still, a welcome upgrade, it is some times a bit embarasing, in years gone by, it's a great track certainly but you do cringe at times when you see our grand prix compaired to some of the others.

I think that upgrade would be absolutely awesome. I'm glad Silverstone isn't anything like abu dhabi or any of those mega rich circuits that just seem far too artificial for their own good.

I think with the upgrades Silverstone would be absolutely amazing as the history would still be there but with a few very nice looking state of the art complexes. Really, a very nice mixture of a brilliant racing track, state of the art hospitality and steeped in history the likes of abu dhabi could never buy.

Why is the pit lane so thin? With all the side by side racing people have been doing lately in the pits, why did they not make it double wide for safety? :confused:
