No-one likes being jumped, but on a PvP server it's just one of those things :) It happens, and you can roll a character that will be better able to deal with it; however, you can't win every fight. Just give it shrug and move on. Personally, I love the edge that PvP gives the game - there is nothing better than smearing the floor with a cocky rogue that attacks when he thinks it's an easy win :D

And there is always the option of calling in the reinforcements, or playing a character that does the ganking in the first place :)

Indeed , I love the dynamics that comes with it, the never knowing when or where you might be attacked, having to be aware of your surroundings and keeping a watchful eye on the horizons. I mean let's face it, its not like you lose anything when you get ganked. This isn't like the old school mmos where you lose equipment or xp when you get pked. You lose nothing. You just respawn and carry on about your way.

Oh god - XP debt; quite literally going backwards whilst levelling. Still, I'll not give you another excuse to start evangelising about UO and DAoC again :p

Ahhh Darkness Falls, quite easily one of the greatest MMO dungeons in history. I wouldnt worry about the ganking on Rift too much anyway, the vast majority of rift "pvpers" havent got a clue how to PvP and would last about 3 hours in UO/Daoc before giving up ;)
 
This thread seem to have died off. Anyone still playing?

I'm still playing since release, been enjoying it and done good Hammerknell progression, how about you guys? 1.5 is around the corner with huge buff to rogue dps.
 
I quit after getting my first character to 50 but I'm seriously considering playing again. How good is that veteran armour?

recieved an email for a reactivation event and thought why not, I mainly played scenarios/warfronts but got a bit fed up of the wait times, a few free days to test it out again might rekindle interest?
 
Yeah I'm planning to do the same. I'm really starting to miss Rift actually; I might just sub again and get another character to 50.
 
sure it was fun playing a load of warfronts and doing a world event but every warfront had 6 rogues to every other class, all my chars had forced soul respecs, massive class imbalances , deja-vu blah blah bleh..... ahwell, I can safely cross it of the list :D
 
i canceled my sub. boring game IMO. roll on guild wars 2.

Rift was a good stable game but it lacked flair and interests for me. first few areas where fine but got tedius with the same boring quests.
 
I just started palying, after being a long term wow player. Got a bit bored of WoW, which after a good 5 years is not bad :) anyway, played a few level as a Guardian - Champion/Reaver/Warlord and im loving it so far, the customisation that you can do is fantastic, i really would like to get into end game but i dont know where to start, need to level ofcourse first, but just wondering what guilds/servers you guys are on and perhaps i can join? Im currently on Icewatch PvE but being only level 6 i dont mind rerolling on another server.

If you have a mumble/vent/ts thats a bonus as i hate playing by my self, and love being able to talk to people (shame none of my mates have decided to quit wow yet )
 
Also is the OCuK guild still defiant on shivermere? as i might re-roll there and make an app if the guild is quite active, currently on icewatch as stated above, and i have seen quite a few people already which is refreshing.

I dont actually see shivermere on the server list, unless im reading the thread wrong :S

edit: found you are on bloodiron :) still defiant?

edit 2: im going a tank, but going to level dps so its quicker, dunno whether to go Kellari or Bahmi :O
