Wouldn't really be too happy at that price if its true. If we are going to throw that much , I would much rather it went on someone else.
 
Gervinho seems like a decent signing for Arsenal especially if they are shipping out Bendtner as seems likely, has a decent record and captaincy experience too.

Hm, Downing or Mata for c. 20 million - tough choice that one :p

Speaking of Reina up there ^^ it's interesting how things have gone quiet there compared to all the speculation in January, seems like the owners/Dalglish have done a good job there.
 
Not happy with Gervinho personally, in ACoN year an African player is the last thing we need and we should be buying a DMC, not a striker. Waste of money IMO especially considering we usually play 4-3-3 and I can't imagine he's any better than RvP as a striker. That money could easily have got us say, Scott Parker.

Wenger has said he wants "one or two" more signings to strengthen the team which is very worrying, one signing would leave us very short on quality. We need two signings just to fill the holes that have been vacant for years now, never mind trying to move the club forwards.

I literally can't remember the last time I had this little confidence going into a season, maybe 15 years ago.

He will rarely play up front imo, he'll operate on the right for the most part competing with Theo.

The only time I can see him playing as a striker is when/if (probably no use writing if there :p) RvP gets injured. Even then, it could be a chance for Theo to play more centrally with Gervinho sticking to the right.

Oh yeah forgot about ACoN - especially as it's going to be on 2 years in a row in Jan 2012 and Jan 2013 - so retarded :p

I reckon if you're selling Bendtner though you'll get 8-10 million or thereabouts for him so it seems like a direct replacement if the former wants out.
 
Yeah but we don't need a replacement for Bendtner, he can just leave, we've already signed his replacement in Chamakh last year.

Vieira is the player we need to replace, not him :)
 
Not sure if it's been mentioned but Chelsea have confirmed that Essien's done his knee ligaments and is out for 6 months. Can't say I feel too sorry for him.

£20mill deal has been agreed apparently. What a waste of money.
 
Rumours that Bender isn't going to Dortmund and he might be joining Fulham on a season loan with view to a permanent deal. Nothing concrete, but :(. Apparently doesn't want to disrupt his young family or something? He'd be quite expensive both fee/wages wise either way!

technically i changed it after my work starting clamping down on internet access/asking for facebook/linked in profile names etc etc...but sure i changed it a good while after that thread. Kept the sig though to make it obvious...
 
Woodgate is effectivley a pay as you play deal and he gets an automatic extension if he plays X number of games.

Dont see the need when we have Shawcross and Huth *two of the best CB's outside the top 6 clubs imo)

but if he stays fit he could be a decent player for us

Ah right fair enough, Whilst im not convinced by him and especially the fee once he wears our shirt like the rest will have full support unless he balls it up entirely that is.
