No he was good enough to be a backup to play 20 minutes here and there, but we all know of your recollection of Albrighton's amazing second half of the season a couple of minutes here and there are proof of a great players aren't they :o

I suspect you've been itching for an argument with me since I showed you up over that

within those 20 minutes he would score goals and assist 2 of them in a champions league final, i would like to see any other player at 34 do that within 20 minutes of playing in a champions league final, maybe zidane could have

Yep, Larrson was a good player for united and I remember wanting him to stay on for us. I dont think anyone had high hopes for him at united but he did really well.

sorry hold on a minute here, you expect me to memorise everything about him?

Well you're the one who wanted to switch the argument from Arteta to Larsson, one would assume you actually know what you're talking about if that was the case?

Unless of course you've decided you dont actually have an argument about Arteta....

lmao Manchester United fans and the manager him self were still talking of trying to get him back almost a season later, and id say scoring a goal inevery competition was pretty damn good, as an aging quality striker id still take Larsson over Owen. even tho owen is only 31 he kinda plays like an aging striker and is treated like one too lols

Actually it was the media that said about him coming back in the January window a year later, the club itself at that time had Ronaldo who scored 40 goals that season, Rooney and Tevez so no there was no actual interest in him then.

And Larsson may have scored in every competition but this is where stats dont tell the whole story because he only scored 3 goals, they just happened to be in 3 different competitions 1 against Villa in the FA Cup, 1 against Watford in the league and one against Lille in the Champions League

Larsson did a job for us at a time when Saha was injured (yet again) and Smith (who was crap anyway) was still recovering from a broken leg but lets no make it more than what it is he wasn't brilliant for us by any means

no im pretty sure Alan Smith played in that Lille game Tom, and that was around the time smith started playing awesome and Ferguson went out of his way to get Smith a Premier League winners medal that season even tho he hadnt played enough games to qualify for one, why are you so quick to dismiss players just because they dont play or no longer play for manchester united

Tim Cahill is 31, how often do big clubs spend big money on players that age? Even Arteta is 29, it's fairly unusual to go for someone that age, especially as Everton would probably want quite a bit.

Oh yeah he's definitely too old now, but I mean 4-5 years ago.

Or maybe he flatters to deceive? He does a job for Everton but tbh I've always thought that he was painfully one dimensional. Dont get me wrong he's fantastic in the air but that's pretty much it, I'd wager all his assists come from knock downs as well.

Big fish small pond (no disrespect to Everton) he'd look totally out of place at United or Chelsea.

See I think that's what he's like now, but I remember not so long ago (read 2005-2006 season) he was running through defenders and getting into one on one situations quite a lot. Maybe it's rose tinted spectacles on my part, but I think if he had gone to a big club and played alongside some other phenomenal strikers (Ruud, Drogba, Henry) he could have ended up with a more rounded game.

It's obviously a moot point at this stage, but just some holiday musings.

And yes I still love Heinze :D

DM you still don't get it do you. You continuously miss quote people and resort to petty name calling which makes you look like an arrogant and ignorant child.

If you can't have a debate over a football team that we supposedly both support without name calling then maybe you shouldn't join in with the grownups.

Ah it's Mr dont tell me you know more about my club yet he's more than willing to suggest he knows more about yours :o

Man Utd fans didn't love him whatsoever, sure he was a bit of a cult figure at the time but christ even Heinze was a cult figure at one point, do United fans love him? Larsson barely played for us and the minute his loan ended and the romantic story went with it we all saw he was well past it and made little impact for us

So no he wasn't brilliant for us far from it.

when did i say he was LOVED at man utd, dont put words in my mouth. AND did u **** think he was past it and made little impact when he left, i remember you all wanted him back, forget you, YOUR MANAGER wanted him to stay so thats your club who wanted him and saw he made the impact and they begged him to stay but he made a promise, so shut it you dont know anything even about your own club it seems.

Everybody here thinks your a clueless muppet and as for showing me up? i think i know more about Albrighton than you as i am a villa fan and saw all our games last season

I can't be alone in thinking DM has some form of autism, can I? It's a fairly reasonable explanation for his 'behaviour'.

Can you please pack in your obnoxious posts, I haven't seen many people who come across as vile and idiotic as you do. You're an embarrassment to yourself.

Jesus can you lot just stfu bitching all the time, i come in this thread hopefuly looking for some transfer gossip (even more hopeful that it involves Arsenal actually buying someone) and can barely see it in amongst all the arguing. :(

It's been like this for years... :p

Mertesacker and Ogbonna being linked with arsenal today, personaly i think they would go for Jan Vertonghen du to the Ajax/Belgium connection with Thomas Vermaelen. makes more sense
