** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

A couple? You sure about that? We do live in a world where Jordan Henderson costs in a region of 20m himself :o :p

Unless you're talking about likes of Adam and Parker? Neither of which IMO are up to Arsenal's standard

Ok maybe not a couple of highly rated players but I think maybe a replacement and maybe enough change to get decent back up. I find Liverpool have ruined the market with £20m for Henderson. I dont think he is worth that but now every other club will be like "well ...... is better than Henerson and they got £20m for him so we should get ££££ for our player"

Going to be crazy money this year

By all accounts he's already chosen United over City so unless our interest in him cools over the season or someone else emerges I cant see the difference 12 months would make to Nasri
Well if you sign someone as a marquee signing like Sneijder for a ton of cash in his position this transfer window it's pretty unlikely he'll sign next year to be a bench-warmer for that player, not to mention that when you figure in signing-on fees on top of wages he's going to be offered an absolute shed-load more cash by City/Chelsea - I imagine it'll be much like Yaya Toure where he pocketed the whole 25 million or whatever it was.

Unless you're anticipating that Utd won't sign anyone in midfield this window?

Also 'by all accounts' do you mean basically that in your opinion why would anyone ever sign for anyone apart from Utd if there was a choice? :p

I love how Man U fans constantly criticise the 20m fee for Henderson yet they spent similar on a player that looked as good as Evans at that age....

It is ridiculous though. Not worth that much at all

Im a Newcastle fan btw

And yes I know Carroll wasnt worth £35m either but I was rather pleased with that decision to sell :D

I never said if he was worth it or not but it was the only price he could be because of the stupid English market.

I bet you were doubly please when you got Shefki Kuqi in to replace him too :p

And Henderson only cost £16m.

Not sure if it's news but Konchesky's move to Leicester is now official. Not sure how long it's been official for because Konchesky's so insignificant that the club couldn't be bothered to announce the move on the official site.

edit: we did announce it (albeit right down the bottom of the page): http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/konchesky-sold-to-leicester

Thing is this time next year we're probably going to be facing up with no more Ryan Giggs so he'll need replacing also so I suspect our midfield issues wont be solved in just this window alone. I do think we'll sign Sneijder though in this window.

As for Nasri again I'm simply putting it down to all the media talk was that he prefers United to City, obviously if Chelsea are seriously interested next summer as well then that's a whole different ball game as Nasri may want to remain in London like Modric

Fair point although I would have thought with Valencia, Nani, Park and now Young (and at a push one of the twins with Evra taking the LB position) you've got that position pretty well covered now, I see Young being a pretty decent straight replacement for Giggs?

Giggs plays centre mid now though doesn't he, cant see him getting any time on the wing next season not with all the wingers we have at the club now

If that's the case then my previous point applies, that if you get a big marquee CM signing this year then I can't see Nasri coming next summer when he'll be behind whoever you sign in the pecking order for the CM position, will be asking most likely to match the top wages and as you say you have the wing positions well covered.

So he's either competing with your 'top signing' the season prior or he's competing with Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick etc for the more withdrawn role which he isn't better at than your current players.

Taggart confirmed that Nasri's agreed to join another club (almost certainly City) should he leave Arsenal this year so that club would more than likely be in pole position to sign him next summer too I'd imagine.
