I'd love to know how you've got Chris Mavinga (a big black French defender) mixed up with Gerardo Bruna (a short white Argentinian forward) :p

Bruna's joined Blackpool for an undisclosed fee and Mavinga is likely to join Rennes in the next few days for a reported fee of £1m :)

I was half asleep but yes i dont know how i have managed it either shh :p

What exactly were your right about?

Your assessment of Valencia is still wrong
The transfer window has yet to shut and many within football still expect the Sneijder deal to happen
O'Shea and Brown have been certs to leave well before your post, the minute Sunderland had a bid accepted to be exact

I'd wait till Spetember if I were you before you start banging that look at me drum

We must be poles apart then because there arent many who could disagree with the valencia statement id go as far as to state that it is almost irrefutable. Dont make me go digging for youtube clips here - i can say this is a battle you cannot win. I even praise him for his positives, yet seemingly you cannot bring yourself to list his failings - try some impartiality it could improve the quality of your life.

The window is still open. Do i see us signing wesley? Honestly no. should we if it includes nani, hell no. is cleverly good enough right now? Is he as good as nzogbia, again its no and no - however i forsee us starting the season with cleverly and not nzogbia but i have no idea why.

You'll find ive been on a 'get oshea out' campaign for many years now. at that point in time the contract was not signed so maybe you can forgive my elation to see the dream come true.

Yes, I seem to recall that is correct. Also, the loan for the development of Highbury Square has now been paid off in full, ahead of schedule, so our repayments on all of the new stadium loans are now much lower than they were expected to be at this time.

Indeed. We can't tell until the accounts are released later this year but I suspect that debt will be around £150m. All of that is long term though I think over 25 years or so.

I can see the negatives in his game and have even said time and time again that Nani should be ahead of him come the start of the season that said SAF was totally vindicated in starting Valencia in as many games as he did at the tail end of last season due to his good form and whilst I can list flaws in his game you're still incorrect with your assessment of his woeful delivery and lack of skill

I remember this time last summer many rival supporters were saying the only players they'd have from United were Rooney AND Valenica what a difference a year and a broken and dislocated ankle make eh :o

The difference being that other off topic stuff hasn't taken up approximately 70% of this thread. Every 5 pages or so you and Tom argue about Valencia, neither of you id going to be able to convince the other that they are wrong so why do it?

Tbf you're mistaking Nickg with atpbx, I argue with atpbx every 5 pages about Valencia ;)

EDIT: I also took more exception with his look at me I'm all knowing post more than his opinions on football, let's face it anyone who time and time again wants us to sign N'Zogbia and play him centre midfield clearly doesn't know their arse from their elbow so what the hell do they know about anything else :p

I'm sure you could find youtube videos of Babel that make him look like Henry too.

If your eyes are as good as your spelling then quite clearly you have no idea what you're on about. You're honestly the only so called Manchester United fan that i've seen bad mouth Valencia.

Oh believe me I agree with you, but he's like DM, give him the slightest recognition and he'll just spout bile for pages. Best just to ignore him.

Is there any news/rumours on sniejder or is it dead now

I hear mixed things one minute fergie says its not on - the next that.it could be a possibility.

And tom84 thanks for your kind words but you know that in the context of that post i am not infact stating that zog would be a best choice for centremidfield i am merely pointing out that nzogbia is a much better player than cleverly is, (in my mind zog can play any role as well or better than cleverly) and that as such everytime he would play would be a dissapointment as he could be replaced without breaking world record transfer fees with nzogbia. Send cleverly the other way - who knos if they think like you.must do that cleverly is the better player- then perhaps they will infact pay us for the privilege... if not then you must concede the.point that zog>cleverly and as my post stated that means that by us infact playing cleverly ever is actually decreasing the quality of the team given who we could feasibly sign as an alternative.

Who said that about nzogbia? :D

The media are seemingly suggesting we're willing to play the waiting game on Sneijder and it could be an August 31st job of course that is more an likely the angle they're playing simply because they've got no new info on it.

There's far too much smoke in this story for it not to be true IMO, Fergies comments that there's "no real interest in Sneijder" doesn't sound conclusive to me either, if there's no interest or intention on signing him why not be direct about it? Simply say "no we're not after him" what does no real interest mean? That can obviously be interpreted as Fergie suggesting that it's fake interest generated by the media up till now but I've seen the interview and that wasn't the tone of the interview IMO . He was a lot more assured in his comments about Nasri for example.

People will say the reason Fergies not putting to Sneijder rumours to bed is because he's trying to deflect attention from actual targets but let's face it top class midfielders are few and far between at the moment so I don't buy that. The noises coming from Inter and Sneijder themselves aren't of total confirmation that a deal isn't going to happen either

Just need to be patient I guess or until Fergie comes out with the usual our business is done for this window quote

Im hoping we have ebough for a fling with hamsik. still think he could do big things.

Hes not necessarily defensive though - but then neither is sneijder. Which makes me wonder, do we need 2 cm's? One def and one offensively minded? If we do thst should really spell the end for the current disasterous crop.

New player, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Cleverley, Giggs.

That will be plenty for this season, then maybe another option next season if/when Giggs retires and we've had a season to see how Cleverley does.

Not sure about Hamsik, only really know him from FM. Everytime we've been linked with him the source has been pretty crap (usually caught offside)

Isn't there some sort of concern over Fletcher's health? I read in the Times that he's been told to stay away from the training ground until he's clear of whatever it is he has.
