Aguero to City is by no means a done deal; he wants to go on and WIN things and City are in no way guaranteed that. I still get the feeling he will go to Madrid, along with Neymar.

Why is he more guaranteed to WIN things at Real?

They haven't won La Liga in three seasons, the Champions League in almost a decade, and only won the Spanish Cup last season.

Probably because Madrid only have to overcome Barca (By luck, hook or crook).
In the PL there's Arsenal, United, Chelsea, us, Spurs

Man City have really only got to overcome Man United or perhaps Chelsea this coming season - Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool are not genuine contenders for the top 2.

Well Spurs aren't, Liverpool haven't been, there target has to be just getting back into top 4 this season and how long is it since Arsenal were in the top 2? (Not trolling, I'm genuinely not sure) they are challengers but they never seem to make it.

Looking at City finishing 3rd last season it's a perfectly valid comment saying it's only United and Chelsea they have to get past.

Agreed Shamike.

How anyone can be blinkered into thinking Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs have in any way bridged the gap on Chelsea and Man United is beyond me, and will mount a challenge for the title?.

As a consequence, I believe Man City are the next best contenders outside the "big two".

So Arsenal didn't mount a challenge for the title last season despite being still able to win until the final few weeks? We were in the top two for a while and it looked like it would either be us or Man Utd that would win it.

Final few weeks? Or months? And even then, did anybody really believe Arsenal would win the title?

When it came to the final month we were still able to win and I think we were still either 2nd or 3rd at that point as well. The team declined in the weeks following the exit from the Carling Cup final for sure, but he is saying Arsenal are unable to do it. Which isn't true. Everyone wrote Chelsea off when they were 4th or 5th or whatever it was and they made a great comeback. Arsenal went the other way and finished 4th. That doesn't make them incapable of challenging for the title.

As a Spurs fan I'm hardly one to stand in Arsenal's corner, but this is complete tosh.

Chelsea and City only finished 3 points ahead or Arsenal last season, I'd hardly call that the point at which we can say City no longer need to overcome them. Arsenal will still be a force next season as much as I hate to admit it. And I think you're being silly writing them of so easily.

If I were a Gooner though, I'd take it on the chin and play the underdog.

Whelan says that wigan want 10 million for Charles N'zogbia and not a penny less.

'they would be stealing nzogbia for 10 million. stealing him.

He is the best wide player in the premier league without question'

Well there you are then lads, read it and weep. Even big Whelan knows just how wide a boy nzogbia can be. ;)

As a Villa fan, I'm hoping Randy stumps up the extra £1m on top of our offer and lands him.

N'Zogbia + £10m for Downing represents a fantastic bit of work.

Luckily for Man City they don't have to be ahead of you with 90% of the season gone, just when it is 100% complete.

And Chelsea and City finished 2nd and 3rd respectively, 10 points short of winning its. It's only 3 points difference. What's your point?

My point is, as previously stated, that realistically only Man Utd and Chelsea can or will finish above Man City this coming season.

Based on the final standings last season, plus the likely / completed transfer activity before the end of August, I can't understand why people are looking for an arguement by saying this statement isn't valid.
