****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I would forget the email client and have google mail check your ntlworld email and forward it to you, this way you get push email for for your NTLworld email as well.

Sorry you've lost me. I can receive email on my phone but can't send it unless I change my settings, and it seems I just need to make my outgoing smtp.t-email.co.uk.

Damn, doesn't work.

Ive updated to the latest firmware and its turned my text message scrren into yellow messages for recieved and blue message for sent. Is there anyway I can change this back to black? Totally forgot how to do it.

Another thing I've been wondering is I don't like how the incoming text messages get displayed in full in the notification bar. Is there a way to disable this?

messaging/options/settings/message skin.....pick what you want from there.

hasn't all ntlworld mail been migrated to gmail now? If so you might be able to add it as an extra google account, or worst case, use IMAP

Right, I'm sort of getting the gist of this now. I've set up my gmail email account on the phone and it's sending and receiving emails which is good. I've also still got my ntlworld email account on the phone, and that's also still receiving emails ok. I've now ticked the Default Account box which says 'Send email from this account by default' in Gmail, instead of keeping it with ntlworld.

How do I now associate it with my ntlworld account to do forwarding? Sorry to sound dumb, but, is the idea to get all my ntlworld emails sent to me on my gmail account and then any replies I send, the person I send to will then see my gmail address and not my ntlworld address? And when the forwarding is sorted, I presumably should delete my ntlworld account from the phone? :o

For anyone who had an issue with the stock non-wipe XXKG2 firmware not applying a CSC to the device after installation I have fixed the issue and uploaded a new package. The link is over at XDA. Frankenstein XXKG2 firmware package was unaffected.

Hi guys, any idea if I can disable the increasing ring volume? I just want the ring to be at my desired volume from and not get progressively louder.

Also, any ideas on the bluetooth contact sync? My car kit is pretty useless with all my twitter contacts all over it. Basically, my phone is syncing all contacts to the car despite in Contacts I am not displaying Twitter contacts.

Regarding the above NTL issue you may be able to set it directly up on the phone as the NTL/Blueyonder/Virgin webmail interface is gmail. Failing that have a Gmail account pull in the NTL email.

yes, the idea is to get Gmail to pick up your NTl world emails, but rather than have NTLworld forward them you can setup Gmail to pick them up for you.

Thanks. Right so, where in my gmail account settings do I click to get gmail to pick up my ntlworld mail?

Under "Accounts & Import".

VillainROM has a neat set of VillainTweaks via VRTweaks :d
