I always loved the style and general interface in webos it's just a shame that it fizzled so much and that there's still a massive lack of apps and hardware.

Back when the pre came out there was no doubt in my mind that the pre & webos were superior to the G1 and android 1.0/1.5 I would have got one if they were launched in the UK earlier and with more carriers.

But if you look at how far Android has come since then vs webos it's amazing. I really hope HP pull their fingers out of their behinds and push it further.

I'm an idiot, didn't realise if you went left and right it went to the next page :)

Two more things :D

How do I rename a folder?

Plus I like the clock on the main screen but is there another one that is smaller in width so I could get another row of apps on the home screen?

If you use Go Launcher, you can change the 'Grid' of the screen (and the App drawer).. mine is set to 5x4 which is pretty tight, but it can go as tight as 5x5!!..

What type of folder have you got? Are you using Folder Organiser?

There are a few options you can get for the clock:

1. Custom clock widgets
- much easier
- customisable
- may find something nicer

2. Get a new Launcher that can resize widgets
- Don't do this till you've had your phone for a while
- A lot more customisability

Go Launcher and ADW get recommendations

Try option 1, I use an app called Make Your Clock it takes a little while but its fantastic!
 
Its just the standard iPhone locker with a suave icon and digital clock widget, I'm using something else now, will upload a pic shortly :)

Mine are 960x854 pixels, I think most new (large screen) phones use that Res.

other than that, there's no other settings, dpi or colour depth even file size or type (.jpg, .bmp, .png etc...)

My phone even does all that for me!.. if I've got a mahoosive .jpg I can tell it what portion to crop to, or use the whole image (within the 960x854) and it'll scale and crop the image for me!!..

Go nuts, create your own, or download half of http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/any/ (though there is an 'Android' option for the downloads!).
