other than that, there's no other settings, dpi or colour depth even file size or type (.jpg, .bmp, .png etc...)

My phone even does all that for me!.. if I've got a mahoosive .jpg I can tell it what portion to crop to, or use the whole image (within the 960x854) and it'll scale and crop the image for me!!..

Great stuff thanks for that, was gonna make a few more for my "theme", so might post them up when I get them done.
 
New clock, I modified the background from xda to add the dots etc, then switched the background into the original desktopclock.apk from my rom, finally got the clock I wanted but couldn't get from anywhere else!

*EDIT* Had a bit of a change around, that is it now, I've spent waaaay too many hours on this lol

The only thing that requires root on those pics is the circular battery thingy at the top right. Everything else can be done with stock android
