AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Sauce?

Oh your post above. It's the inquirer though...

AMD have not official confirmed anything at all.

The Shareholders quarterly conference call is about as official as it gets to be honest.
An announcement to us is worth sod all, an announcement to the folks who put the money into the company in investments etc is likely quite important. Deviation from a Quarterly report instills worry to say the least, so dont think they would have brought it up if they werent pretty sure they would meet this self imposed deadline.

Sorry I said on sale in August in previous post, its ships for revenue in August, which I'm taking as shipping to OEMs and suppliers etc.

Why the frown face?

Well I was holding out for BD in the hope that AMD would have something to compete in a reasonable timeframe.

In the end I couldn't wait any longer, the i7 is a fantastic chip, especially at 4.7Ghz with hyperthreading switched on, will do for probably a good two years.

Just a shame from my perspective that AMD couldn't get BD to market quicker.

I still hope it is a formidable chip for those that do and can wait :)

Now I am awaiting for the ATi 7xxx GPU

4.7GHZ i7 with Hyper-Threading, should do for a good two years? have I been drugged or something? what is happening in the next two years that is going to bring that processor suddenly to its knees?

AMD has now officially confirmed it: Bulldozers will be available in Q3 2011.

Edit: production begins in next month.

Just thought I'd clarify this slightly, the quote from AMD is initial production will SHIP next month, not START. Basically it means the initial chips being made will ship next month, chips take circa 6 weeks to make, meaning production likely started 6-8 weeks ago as you rarely start shipping chips one wafer at a time, you build up 1-2 months production then release so some volume actually gets around.

So if the first shipments are leaving the warehouses for oems/distro's production at the very worst would have started a couple weeks ago, but probably add another month of production on top and that so they get some real quantity out the door.

If its shipping I'm 99% sure it will also launch and be available pretty damn quickly.

I know when my work will have stock of them but were all under NDA on it but i can say The Drunkenmaster aint wrong

I thought that even revealing that you are under NDA (or that an NDA exists) constitutes breaking the NDA. Since the damage is already done ... Spill!

:p

September the 19th is supposedly the date for the worldwide retail launch.

lets just hope its not one of amds stunts to keep those who are still havent sided with intel. after that date, it will happend, even i was considering i5, yes i know, dirty :p going for ga-990xa-ud3 on monday to seal the deal, only seal that is missing is dozer itself :D
