being liked with sneijder and getting joey barton reminds me of when i asked for a stunt kite and instead got a pink girls kite with a Japanese girl on the front one xmas

I could see the value in a player with Joey Bartons qualities (as a player) in our midfield. I can also see why his signing would be as popular as a fart in a spacesuit.

Ahhhh, it all makes sense now! Sorry! Its still early!

TBH i still dont really see how we would fit WS into the XI unless we signed someone else to do the donkey-work alongside him and even then i think the potential for being out-muscled in the middle would be huge. Again, thats taking nothing away from WS as a footballer i just see a bit of a Veron situation.

Its very difficult to establish a market value when there is only one buyer.

He only wants to go to Barca. Barca know this.

Fair enough, but in my eyes that means Barca are the ones screwing him, not Arsenal. One buyer or not, arsenal have put a value on him, they can either pay it or get lost. In no way can this be described as Arsenal screwing him, as DM suggests.

But thats what the boss does. We make stars rather than buying them.

We dont tend to buy players in the prime of their career for top money. The last one was Berbatov who gets nothing but criticism in some quarters and before that it was probably Veron.

Hernandez in a year has become a £30m+ player. It might not have been a sexy signing last July but it suddenly became one once we watched him play!
