Wilshere can fill the cesc shaped void in our club if he does leave, he may not be as good but he's better than Nasri in that position. I couldn't care less about what nasri does. In fact I'd rather he leaves now and we invest the £20mil in a better player.

lol Arsenal spending £20 million on a player?

tbh you guys need to but you won't. Lisandro Lopez and Nene could be good cheap buys, Bastos and Gourcuff would be expensive, dont know of any other decent players in France.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Dzeko, moving to a new country midway through the season can be tough and often you won't see the best of a player during those few months (e.g. Vidic and Evra as cited above). Being a MC player he's also saddled with an over-inflated pricetag.

If he's crap throughout the forthcoming season then by all means stick the boot in.

I actually think wenger would be willing to splash some cash should cesc/nasri leave for reasonable money. If we find the perfect player and he's £25mil then I'm pretty sure wenger will spend. If he's planning to replace cesc with some French nobody then he might as well retire now.

I think it's unfair to judge them on last year's performances, tbh. Dzeko only had half a season (look at how dubious Evra and Vidic look, after being signed in January... then how well they turned out to be after that), whilst Balotelli had a number of injuries which obviously disrupted his first season.

some reports are indicating City staff are geting annoyed at Balotelli's "injuries" which arent as serious as he tries to make out, just to cover his bad form......

Could just be media trying to make situation sound worse of course :)

Indeed, if nasri and fab go I'd fancy our chances of getting in front of them more than our chances of getting in front of city.

Nasri won't have ANY effect on the club, infact consider it would seem that he's one of the most problematic players on the team in terms of personality and attitude that him leaving would be an improvement.

If Fab goes, we could seriously struggle to get into the top 5 though, he's the single best player on the team and our most crucial attacking player.

While Wilshire can indeed step in for Cesc and is FAR better than Nasri in the role, Wilshire playing Cesc's role means we lose him in the other midfield role, either way we'd need a new better central midfielder. Would Ramsey do, I really don't know, his games back last season, one was great, 3 were pretty awful, preseason he's looked pretty damn good. But what cost us last year was having backup to central midfield being so god damned awful so even if we end up with Wilshire/Ramsey in central mid, we have to buy a quality backup.

Cant see them losing both, probably the reason why Wenger is willing to let Nasri go on a free next summer as oppose to selling him this year, because he knows he'll have to do without Csec as it is.

Its so completely retarded, lost Cesc this year, and Nasri next year, or lose both this year, they both need replacing either way and if we get rid of Nasri this year we get 20+mil to spend on a replacement. I can't see how replacing him this year or next year makes the slightest bit of difference.

Likewise Mata probably is/was for sale, clubs who want a bit of stability are more willing to sell players before preseason starts though, I think our chances of simply making a real bid and getting him a month ago were MUCH higher than getting him now. Then theres plenty of other players in the world, you think Hernandez is the only 7mil top quality player in the world, not even a chance.

Considering how confidently I proclaimed that he'd be good over here, this is the view I'll resort too now too. :o

I love berbatov's work ethic:

'you aren't going to see me puffing around the pitch' said berbatov, casually tapping his ash somewhere near the 18 yard box.

'Great quality doesn't require much effort' (as they say in Bulgaria) he chuckled. 'there is no other way i can play'...

Berbatov dashes any hopes the fans might have of him putting a shift in during the next season.

I hope that shami does realise that my post was very much tongue in cheek. its so easy to play around with berbatov given his pics with cigs and quotes like that which make him sound like he has the quality to produce the divine without actually moving at all.

I don't think many man utd fans want to see a forward who doesn't put himself about a bit though...if any of you guys read the 'fiver'from the guardian you will probably get the style, if not you should sign up its a welcome distraction come 5pm.
