Arsene stated that Vermaelen would act as cover at LB should it be required.

Speaking of injuries, Walcott seems to have picked up a knock and one of our kids (Connor Henderson) is out for 6 months.

No sources, but we're not buying Mata unless Cesc is leaving obviously, and it's a little strange that he hasn't been training with the first team.

Mata's buy out clause is only something like €13.5 million isn't it?

Diaby is injured aswell and Cesc is supposedly somewhat injured, but how much that is just not wanting to risk a real injury before a sale, bit of both maybe.

Henderson did his cruciate ligament they think so 6 months if it goes well, maybe much longer.

As for buying well, if we bought Hazard and Mata in replacement for Cesc and Nasri, its kind of a wash, neither is as good as Cesc but both could be better than Nasri. But thats basically where we were last season, we aren't adding Mata and Hazard to the existing squad while getting rid of some of the crap.

What we want to do is sell Nasri, get Hazard, sell Diaby, get Mata, and keep Cesc, that would be a significant improvement over last season, but defensively we absolutely have to have a left back, Vermaelen is our only good CB, pushing him to left back won't help our woeful back two. Basically we lost Clichy, so we need to take the chance to buy a better left back, not put our insanely inferior reserve in at left back.

Whelan/Martinez need to buy some players or else is another crap season at the bottom of the EPL, N'Zogbia going to Villa now, he was pure class to watch at the DW at times. Considering he has won a lot of games for Wigan and scored 9 goals, who else is going to come in an replace his performance and skill. Plus going to Villa lol what a strange move.
