BT ordered to block pirate links

I did in my last post if you go back and read it :)

If not I'll repeat it here.

The standard card can be overclocked to the same levels as the newer overclocked card. The original Blu-Ray can't be upgraded to included the same content as the repackaged Blu-Ray.

Hence the poor analogy.

There is zero guarantee that it can be over clocked and you can not ask for an upgrade to the heatsink or other small difference, in look, design or. Performance. Just like you can't ask for the extras on a new release.

So again how Is it different,

Yes that's generally the principle of selling stuff, you charge money and make a profit.

If you want them to stop packing extra content at extra cost, stop paying the extra cost for the extra content.

People want the content and people are happy to pay for it. But people don't want to have to pay twice. Include the content on the first release or make it clear that at a later date a newer version with more content will be released and give the consumer the option.

Screwing them down the line won't help.

So then people shouldn't pay twice. As long as a considerable number of people do pay twice, they will keep doing it.

You seem pretty sure they'll keep doing this, so why are you not wise to it yourself? Just wait the 2 months, then buy the updated version.

I've already shown how it's a rubbish analogy. If it's a different panel that is superior to the previous one, it's a new model, even if it is in the same enclosure. You really don't seem to understand analogies.
And a DVD with more extras or an extended edition is a superior DVD. So again what's the difference, other than your opinion which is clearly wrong.

Sure, I'm aware I can't ask for the additional content. That's why I pointed it out as a problem that should be addressed.

If they want to keep customers or move them away from piracy they need to offer a better service.

Hopefully you'll never be in charge with an attitude like that. "Screw the customers, lets shake them down for every penny they have! They should know better than to buy on release date! Stupid fools!" :)

yet again more stupid assumptions, just because I don't agree with you. Where have I said anything related to any of that.

But at the end of the day it's their business they have the. Right to charge what they want and if you don't want to pay, they go bust and you won't be able to get hold of their goods.

There's no guarantee that there will be another version. Not all films do it. And consumers shouldn't be put in that sort of position where they have to second guess. If you want to sell something, you're supposed to make it as pain free as possible for the consumer. Not make them second-guess their own decisions.

How is my opinion wrong based on an example I didn't make, and you clearly don't understand?

It is their business, they can do what they want. But the people pirating music, films, games and TV shows are crying out for a better service but they're too blind too their own problems to do anything about it.

Because you support the view that because companies release new versions, it makes a good reason to illegally down right and that it's totally morally wrong.
And if that was your point, then great.

But I firstly didn't say that, and secondly, how exactly would you "illegally download" a TV? Are you confusing my posts with someone elses?

Crying out for it and they get it in the music industry and they change. It's not crying out for it. It's an excuse to try and justify what they do.

I'm crying out for the movie we PR ice to catch up music.

I'm sure for some it is, just like for some they believe its their right to download copyrighted works. But to think that covers everyone involved in piracy is just foolish.

Offering a better service with strong competition will always win against trying to criminalise peoples actions.

Everyone, of course not. Vast majority he'll yeah. Again look at music. If they actually meant what they said, they would have switched over. Yet they are still saying it's not good enough. Ebeppven though all the services are there. It's down to money for most people nothing else.

You can't offer. A better service, it's impossible. You release free updates. Oh wait but you can just download those updates for free. They release friend, oh wait the files there waiting to be downloaded for free.

Once something gets so integrated, accepted and starts damaging, you have no option but to criminalise.

I didn't say you would illegally download a tv.

So how does an upgraded model of TV relate to an extended edition of a movie coming out, and pirating that?

Because you support the view that because companies release new versions

You're claiming that's my view, when I said nothing of the sort. If I'm gonna download something, I'll download it regardless of if there's an extended version that makes me feel cheated out of my money.

As sly, was saying that the movie industry was evil and they shouldn't release updated movies and you shouldn't have to buy the whole thing again.
For some reason sin galling out movie industry, when it's common standard in all industry to update and you have to buy it again.
But for some reason as it's movie industry, it's suddenly evil and shouldn't be done.

It's not your view? But you feel cheated out of money by extended movies. Which is it?

What you get with piracy is a better service. No adverts, no DRM, quick easy high quality HD access.

Are you purposefully missing the point? It's very clear that mr.sly is saying that he would happily pay the movie and music industries to offer the same service that he currently gets through the piracy route.

To ensure you don't purposefully misunderstand or selectively quote part of what I've said, he's saying that he'd happy pay for an identical service to a newsgroup account, if it was official from the music or movie industry.

Factually, that's a better service.

Where are you getting this from? mr.sly said that, not me, why are you claiming I also said it?
