Doesn't Mata play on the wing as well?
I don't know if its just my mind playing it down for me but I don't believe this Mata and Jagielka thing.
We are going to pay £15m+ for a player with injury concerns in recent seasons and who is almost 29 and also be lucky enough to get away with spending £17m(ish) for a player who seems to be universally proclaimed as amazing?
Pfft. It's so unArsenal.

Tell me about it.
One's stepped up to the plate and pretty much carried a team left low on confidence after their top striker was sold to Barca, and did a mighty fine job.
The other looked above average in a team nearly relegated.
.. not happy. Not happy at all.
One will provide us with width - something we've lacked for god knows how long - and crosses that our £35m striker will thrive on. The other will cut inside and will play very much in the same way as Suarez does.
You couldn't, fairly sure it's been repeated by his father a few times that Mata wouldn't have joined a team who aren't in the CL
He'll be playing for us by then ¬_¬
Mata is still a good crosser though yes he can cut in but im sure KK could at times ask him not to.
Tbf we could have got both i think if we didnt bother with Henderson/Adam, Since we did have Aquaman coming back.
Cahill > Jags > Samba imo
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has labelled Manchester City's recruitment policy as "unfair" after the title contenders once again splashed out to land Sergio Aguero.
The Argentinian joined City in a deal worth around £35million to add to a squad already bursting with world-class talent.
Perennial big-spenders Chelsea have, so far, been unusually quiet despite seeing most of their title rivals invest heavily in new players.
But Villas-Boas feels City's financial dominance gives them an unnatural advantage in the transfer market.
"I think it's unfair. I think it's pretty clear that they are building a squad to fight for the title," he said ahead of Chelsea's clash with Aston Villa in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy.
"It's for Mancini to say what his objectives are but my personal perspective is that they are making good signings and that they can threaten for the league."
He cant be serious?
Chelsea could have easily bought Aguero. He must have forgot the 50m they spent on Torres last Jan.
