Your dislike of SAF is completely incredible.

You must have missed the Big cup final. and the previous one we got to when we played Ronaldo up front on his own and rooney somewhere left wing.

just buy a left winger. You'd have to be blind or very very stubborn to keep buying right sided wingers after that.

Don't forget, i was there for pablo aimar debut at OT. It was.obvious azure soon as giggs went off that we lost all forward ball movement. Since then it has never been addressed. right wingers have come and gone. sans jesper blonqvist left wing has been a hole for the past decade with giggs getting on now and operating centrally why not just buy a left winger?

Wenger probably realised that gervinho can do the job and the defence needs the spend first.

Gervinho hasn't showed he could fill in in Cesc's creative midfielder/makes the team work role, and Wilshire who has been excellent, is equally as good in a deeper defensive role, and without Wilshire theres little to no cover. Ramsey has potential but isn't even close to as far along as Wilshire, repeatedly in preseason, last year, and before his injury his passing/shooting/crossing all look pretty damn good but he seems to constantly get caught on the ball in dangerous situations.

Cesc/Wilshire are always basically aware of where everyone is around them, their first touch will almost every time take them away from danger and into a place they can get the ball forward, Ramsey doesn't have that yet.

Basically it was seen that Mata was as much a replacement for Cesc as he would be able to play on the wing.

Honestly, even if Gervinho ends up fantastic, Arsenal had no natural wingers last season, not one, if Gervinho ends up great on the wing we'd have one, Ryo makes two(but is unlikely to get games and may well end up on loan) and Mata would only make three.

Considering Mata would have cost less than we could sell Nasri for and we could almost certainly get him for far lower wages than we have offered Nasri, it should have been a no brainer.

What football team do you support?

Hasn't Young mainly played on the left anyway? He always seems to be there when I see him play.

He likes cutting inside and making a run, or cutting in and crossing with his right (has done a couple of very dangerous ones in pre season like this)

I think it is the wage demands rather than the transfer fee that is the sticking point.

Diego wouldn't be a bad alternative and vastly cheaper, leaving some cash for January.

Diego is rubbish though :o He had a good couple of seasons at Werder a few years back, but since then has been pretty poor.

Atpbx are you willing to put a £5 wager on that? Ill paypal a third party the money today to hold in our behalf if you think that young will get twice the assists and goals of gervinho.if he doesn't get both twice the assists and goals i win. if young gets double on both you win?

No need to, I bet your account.

Wenger said Ryo will most likely stay with us this season. No idea why Nasri is still an arsenal player, it makes little sense keeping him.

He's played through the middle and behind Bent a lot this season with Agbolabarndoor for some reason on the wing - can't really say it's worked spectactularly though, for me he definately looked better on the left cutting in like previous seasons.

According to Villa fans on various forums one of Youngs 'demands' to stay an extra season was to play his favourite position behind a striker

Joey Barton's going to make an announcement on his future at 4pm. A few reports saying that's he's been released by Newcastle.

Could Utd's search for a CM be over? :p

Everyone on Twitter saying he has been released.

Guessing he'll be announcing that at 4 then, doubt he would have found a new club already.
