Why are people trying to make more of it than they want, Nile says he's considering his future because HE CAN'T GET A GAME, not because of other problems. Why can't he get a game vs last season, last season they had no strikers, and he was still only a sub, and he was rubbish, now they are sorting out buying strikers and playing better players ahead of him.

Rubbish player who can't get game wants to leave, as does incredibly mouthy criminal....... its a conspiracy I tell you, a conspiracy.

Or they don't want to offer a criminal another contract, and they don't want to play a woeful player?

Its not whats being said, its the fact every single player in the side's out whining on twitter at the moment.
Thats not a sign of a sound dressing room

Every single player, I've seen Ranger and Barton, Barton's a pratt, probably thinks after the season he's had he deserves to be on 80k a week, Ranger is crap and again he's said he's upset that he can't get a game.

Maybe the dressing room will be better without a mouthy guy telling all the players how the club should be giving them more money, etc, etc, etc.

I think Arsenal will have a better dressing room by telling Nasri to smeg off, than begging him to stay with a 115k a week offer, a year later and all our other players will be begging for the same.

Maybe I'm wrong and every single last player is on twitter having a go about something. Maybe players are just upset that their mate is leaving the club, thats understandable, thats football.

I'm sure if Henry left Arsenal now there would be loads of posts on twitter from players upset at the news.

I haven't seen any Newcastle in preseason, how is Ba looking bad?

At West Ham he is, well he's one of those players who always seems to have no control of the ball, he'll control it, and instead of being at his feet it will be a metre away, and then he'll just pull a great pass out of nowhere and set up an attack. He's a weird gangly looking dude, is it more like that or, he's been missing sitters all over the place.

I think he's a risk but, over Ameobi/Best/Nile I would be really surprised if he wasn't significantly more successful considering how he played last season. Injury wise though he's a pretty big risk, can't remember what the "fail his medical but its ok" reason is, but he picked up a bunch of other injuries at West Ham so didn't play all that much.

Oh I'd take him over the rest of our lot in a heartbeat. He's just looked off the pace, and unfit - which gives off a disinterrested vibe if you know what I mean. I get the feeling he's the sort of player that enjoys a scrap and being up against it, so he'll fit right in at our place ;) Even with his dodgy knee.

Nile's pretty much up for sale. He's a strong lad with a good burst of speed, but the accuracy of a blunderbus. He's also wound up Pardew by being late for training regularly and posing with a (fake) gun. Gangsta wannabe, and a bit of a prune.

Enrique ? Nolan?

Enrique ? Nolan?

Enrique's been trying to get a wage hike for a while now, and when that wasn't forthcoming angled for a move. He'd probably have one too if he stopped whinging on twitter, he mustn't realise other prospective clubs also read it eh.

And Nobby's bitter that he had to go to West Ham for his 50k a week 5 yearer. Well, you would be bitter wouldn't you ;) Show me a footballer who would agree terms with a handshake, without his agent getting it signed in triplicate? Sounds like 6 of one half a dozen of the other to me.

So they're all just trouble makers? Enrique's lying when he says he's not been offered an improved deal, like Pardew claimed he rejected? Nolan's decided to make up the stuff about shaking hands on a 5 year deal only for a 1 year deal to be offered to him?

Mirko Vucinic has signed for Juve.

that will at least end the speculaton/bs of Berba heading to Juve then

hmmmm - Gill said recently that Utd have an "option" for a fifth year which would obviously start next Aug if exercised.

Just wondering if there is a big difference (if he were to be "sold" next summer) between a contract with and without that "option" clause for a buying club - ie whether the clause is worth anything to Utd in any transfer

Nolan, like any other premiership footballer is motivated by money & length of contract. A handshake means precisely nothing in the premier league, and Nolan and his agent know this. Therefore why would they take it as gospel, especially with our board's record? They wouldn't, but if it means he can look like he was forced out, into a 55k a week, 5 year deal, then he comes out smelling of roses & makes the board who wouldn't give him what he wanted look bad.

Such interviews are win/win for the player.

And Enriques twitter rants make him look almost as spoilt a child as Joey's do. And yes, Enriques lying when he says he hasn't been offered a deal. He hasn't been offered the deal he wants perhaps, but he was offered a new deal in Feb and didn't come out and dispute that at the time as far as I'm aware. Though to be fair, our management couldn't even lie straight in bed these days.

I doubt there's a wrong & a right here, just footballers who are used to getting what they want, and a board that wants to slash the wage bill, regardless of squad depth. Us fans are the only losers in the end though.

Enrique ? Nolan?

Sorry, when you said EVERY SINGLE PLAYER, I forgot that Newcastle got fined heavily every game for only fielding 4 players..... and they still wouldn't start Ranger :p

Well, it would seem Enrique is "doing a Nasri", got a few people talking about him, suddenly unhappy with a mere 80k a week offer, rather like Cole almost crashing his car when offered 55k.

Sorry but, the offers aren't flooding in for Enrique, and he seems to want out, or a lot more money and the board aren't offering it.

Again theres I think you and Baz both hinting that theres some massive problems behind the scenes, really bad treatment and shocking behaviour.

I see players near the end of their contract wanting way more money, thinking they deserve massive pay rises, and a club in debt who are shifting players out and bringing in cheaper replacements.

Wenger does that and people call him a genius, even when players complain after they leave as most of Arsenals players do. When Flamini walked and wouldn't sign a new contract, or this Nasri stuff, or Vieira wanting out, did anyone start hinting that everything behind the scenes is rotten?

3 players who think they can get a lot more money, fair play to them, Nolan's got it, Enrique and Barton might get more money elsewhere, I fail to see how the club not wanting to give them more money suggests there is a huge problem behind the scenes.

I can't remember who it was who linked Nile "having to rethink his position at the club" posted in response to Barton being told to smeg off. But its simply about him not getting a game.

http://au.eurosport.com/football/premier-league/2009-2010/enrique-slams-liars_sto2884045/story.shtml

Its this kind of thing I tend to read as, he's been offered a contract but its not for more money. Read at the top he isn't claiming he hasn't been offered a new contract, he's said he hasn't been offered and improvement in his salary, and later on also seems to be saying, they gave me the same money, they are unwilling to spend.

Now if he's on 20k a week, thats one thing, but was he signed by previous managers in Newcastles ridiculous high wages situation where he's already on 40k a week and a very highly paid left back already? Same goes for Barton and likely Nolan, they were signed by idiot managers who were handing out wages like Candy which is part of the reason the club is in major debt. A few guys want more money, only West Ham were stupid enough to offer it to Nolan. Yeah, its all about the football for Nolan, not the money, thats why he went to the championship for a ridiculous 5 year deal.

Can I call 'bull****' now or do we have to wait? Everyone knows Carrick will Master and Commander the **** outta the midfield Russell Crowe-styley.

There's so much talk surrounding Sneijder that there must be something going on. It reminds me of when Florentino Perez used to put out those massive public denials about purported targets during the Galacticos era and then a week or two later the player(s) would have signed for Real. Fergie and Inter have had to deny it so much that to me it just makes it seem more and more likely we are going to get him.

Love your optimism but I fear that its simply the perfect conditions for tabloid journalists to create rumours. Scholes retiring, weak midfield, ruined by barca in the CL final and Fergie saying that Scholes needs replacing.

Sneijder has a lot of fans amongst united supporters, there are few really top class midfielders available that would move to england and foreign managers seem a little less bothered by transfer speculation than united's direct competition in the premier league such as Totenham and Arsenal.

Back page of tomorrow's Mirrors says we have agreed a fee with Inter for Sneijder and it's down to the structure of his personal terms. Make of that what you will folks.

Ah the Mirror that would have had us believe that the transfer was done and dusted about a month ago, they are without doubt the worst of the tabloids for BS stories..... unfortunately :(

Nah it's well beyond speculation now, the interest is legit without a doubt.

The Sun is going with a story that Barton refused to play in the Leeds game when he found out he wasn't named captain, was told he had to play, finally ended up playing but decided to have a go at the manager/owner on twitter, and was told to smeg off.

Seriously, this is a club that could have frankly pretty easily have fired Barton as he went to god damn jail. He was on a stupidly large contract which they didn't cancel, and he's seemingly kicking up a fuss and refused new deals because he thinks he's worth more money, despite the club being in debt and having basically been overpaying him for years already.

I can't take anything that guy has to say seriously, he's a joke, one manager gives him a daft contract, he goes to jail, the club rather moronically, while getting slated by just about everyone stick by him, yet somehow he still thinks he deserves a bumper new deal.

Carroll was a no brainer, 35mil for a club heavily in debt and who can buy several players and cover their wages for years with the money. Nolan wanted a long contract, no one has a go at Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea for not wanting to give out long contracts to older players, Newcastle do it and some how they are evil or ridiculous. Ranger, utter turd, Barton, utter a-hole, Enrique, thinks he should get a huge raise and thinks someone is going to come in and offer him loads of money.
