I could hear it fine at normal volume

I was using rubbish work speakers to hear his full bullying rant of swearing. I have no idea how he keeps getting away with it.

Imagine if Eddie Jordan asked Christian Horner a question or wrote a piece he didn't like and he went off like that. It would be front page news and Horner would lose his job.

He is supposed to be the ambassador for the club as much as his players. Old bully.

You really don't. You take very good players and put them alongside other very good players. Still the best game I've seen rooney play for england was against turkey when he was an everton player.

He has barely improved for united he is just playing with far better players. Is he really playing better in Europe all these years on from his champions league debut?

Its laughable how people refuse to give Manchester United credit for anything.

Im not really fussed how Rooney players for England but the player we signed initially wouldnt have scored 38 goals in a season at that point in time regardless of who he was playing with.

But Ok we dont improve players. The list i gave you are exactly the same players as when we signed them. Ronaldo was no better the day he left than the day he arrived and it was all down to playing alongside decent players. And anyway, if playing and training alongside better players makes them better - well is that not really the whole point anyway?

Actually I will agree you did improve Ronaldo or mature him. I don't think Rooney is any better though or countless others. For every player you claim to have improved there is a veron or forlan.

Yeah and what, see above post. It doesn't matter who he is that isn't acceptable.

he's not going to behave now though, they have been far too lenient with him over the years so it has got to the point where he thinks he is above normal rules of acceptable behaviour

anyway, back on topic :)

And Fergie's the only one to tell a journo where to go I suppose?

Sorry but it's clear you've got a bee in your bonnet about United, Fergie's a bully, United don't improve players etc etc and this isn't really the thread for that (there's plenty of specific anti United threads on these forums you can bump if you feel the need to)

I think the point is, if you couldn't afford to dump 10-30mil on players whenever you like, you wouldn't have players like Ronaldo.

Utd have outspent everyone for, ever really, its good business, they always had a huge stadium in comparison to everyone else, but they spent money to do that, money other clubs didn't have.

Utd still spend more than most, so what, if UTd/Arsenal were putting together teams today, without previous success to bank on they'd both be spending similar amounts.

Of course, if people weren't spending 20-30mil on players before Chelsea got money, then people wouldn't have been spending 30-50mil afterwards. Theres a progression, everyone wanted to charge Chelsea more than Utd, which meant going up from the baseline Utd had established. If Utd were only spending 10mil a player, 20mil from Chelsea would seem massive.

City/Chelsea are only continuing what Utd, Barca, Real started frankly, the next rich clubs will have to spend more than City, and the club after them will spend more yet again, thats life.

A tired old bully who thinks he can use the popularity and demand for united to control the press. A complete ****. Once he goes no one will be able to get away with the way he talks to people any longer.

Yeah because the media in this country are so respectful. I just can't imagine what irks Ferguson. The media have far too much power and he is one of the only ones who stands up to them. I don't always agree with him but the media are one of the worst organisations to have to deal with.

Over the course of the phone hacking we have learnt that politicians were scared of journalists and they knew it. They even openly threatened people with the destruction of their careers if they dared push back. Yeah, lovely bunch of people. Can't see why anyone would have a dislike for them.

You're the one that posted the off topic video

Funny how quick people get upset with a couple of comments, all of a sudden you become anti united. Where as Baz would say I'm a secret united fan when I have defended them.

:)

The vid was more in relation to the Sneijder transfer story and that the quotes that we'd given him a take it or leave it offer were either fabricated or meant 'off the record'

By all accounts Bob Cass is one member of the media close to Fergie so I suspect if the comments were off the record Fergie was a bit peeved at him for publishing them. From Cass' reaction I suspect maybe it was those above him that published them...... who knows, who cares :p

You cannot question Fergie's ability to improve players. It's impossible to say whether Rooney would have been the same player had he stayed at Everton, but United have one of the best coaching teams in the world, so I would be very surprised if most people in football didn't agree that Rooney, along with most players United have bought, has improved. Evra was brought in for less than £6mil, and is now considered by most to be one of the best left-backs in the world. Vidic was brought in for £7mil and is now the best centre back in the world. Yes there are examples of players not playing to their potential at United, but Fergie's eye for talent and ability to nurture it is second only to Wenger, and I think that's pretty hard to dispute.

I agree that he is a bully, but then there are plenty of other managers who aren't exactly saintly (Wenger comes to mind immediately).

Well i disagree i mean how many duff goalkeepers can a manager buy in 5 years? In fergies world - many.

how good is fergie at reigning in these young players? Arguably rooney has never been out of trouble with hoes or contract issues. giggs has been off through rails for a while we just have good pr spinners or are good at sweeping under the table.

fergie didn't even want to sign ronaldo - it was only senor giggs persuasion that he went into the deal at all apparently.

then you have dong, manucho, chadwick disasters.

For every vidic there is a rio or a laurent blanc. when you have as much.money as fergie has had its difficult to not sign a good player every now and again if you churn through so many.

At that is exactly how I look at united as an Everton fan.

They wanted a player, say Dwight Yorke, Saha, Carrick, Rooney, Hargreaves etc they unsettled him with paper talk and threw money at it.

Lets be under no illusion that united have done the same but it doesn't seem so bad because the amount of years they have been doing it. In time once City have a stable base they will make fewer signings.

United have bought their way to the title many times. It's not like they aren't right up there for money spent. Although now they are suddenly a bit bitter that this scenario happens because city have more money.

It's not like united have continued to bring through world class young players since that period of time they keep banging on about. No instead other clubs bring them on and you throw money at the problem area.
