Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I've got a £15 gift card and £9 worth of loyalty points that I'll be using to get it. Probably scour my shelves for titles to trade in as well

I've see a few gameplay videos and this game doesn't look great in my opinion. The videos I've been watching must be of the console versions because the graphics haven't looked anywhere near as good as some people have said, in fact I'd go as far as saying they look pretty average for a current gen console game, they must look better on PC.

The textures are quite bland, the animations don't look great and the lip syncing is laughable. I don't like the way everything you can interact with glows yellow either, it's too hand-holdy for me. Also the gunplay looks a little rough, it looks like a poorer version of the Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 shooting mechanics, especially the cover system.

I agree with ps3udo - i'll wait for user reviews!
Some magazines tend to go a bit overboard on their reviews from past experiences.

Wonder if this will get a slating by the die hard Deus Ex fans on Metacritic like Dragon Age II did. Though i'll end up watching/reading both anyway. :)

I think after DX 2 my expectations arn't very high. However if it lives up to DX 1 (The best game of all time) we are in for a treat!!

Well, if it helps...... I have the beta version and i can't stop playing it, definitely one to buy. I've pre-ordered my copy :D

Loved the original, hated the second one, this one is superb ;)

OPSM gave it 8/10 - said it was a great game hampered with a couple of unnecessarily awkward sections. They also said that although you can genuinely play it any way you want (and it does have an effect on the game world), it's a much easier game if you go down the stealth route than if you go all guns blazing.

It is an early review for a game that's not due out til the end of the month though, so it might not even be final build. Still very much looking forward to it.

PC Gamer review was contrary to that and actually said that the way of the shooty path is easier than the stealthy approach.

Will have a double check later but that was the gist anyway.

I think seeing the cloak in gameplay videos is a bit of a cop out on the stealth side of things. I can only hope that it takes a long time to charge again or it could get a little silly.

Will be good I'm sure but going into it with low expectations so hopefully will be surprised. I enjoyed Alpha Protocol despite being seriously clunky.

I watched a gameplay video, the guy got kicked back by the gangster guarding a back street entrance. So the guy sneaks through some pipes that are stacked up, literally 4 or 5 m away from the guard but they are right beside the entrance, is stealth really that simple?

I have a feeling this could be a big flop.

Is there any suggestion yet of a difference between the 360 and PS3 versions of this or are they pretty much the same?
Not sure which one to get it on.

Lack of reviews is annoying me. Has anyone read if its possible to turn off the orange guidance ingame?
