18 should be retired.

so should 11 when giggs quits.

what number is sniejder now?

7 should def be taken off owen, why did he get it in the first place.

He's number 10. Obviously that is taken :p

8 would probably be the best number for him. Give Anderson something else.

Okay so the BBC guy that last night said a 33m fee had been agreed has said today that the first round of talks regarding personal terms didn't go well

Ian McGarry
First round of talks between Sneijder officials and #MUFC failed to reach agreement on personal terms. More talks planned.

Dont ask me why I'm still reporting this crap :o

Wait. i said he was unproven before the charity shield, that game just proved that he was for all intents and purposes, unproven...

Sadly i've been reading some of the stuff you've said recently :p;) I would simply say that the game showed he is capable of mistakes and the greatest keepers in the world all make mistakes. When it comes to the end of the season we shall see who is right and who is wrong. That is not just aimed at you but anyone who is asking for his head after making a couple of mistakes (hell im pretty sure you could argue it was just one mistake) in his debut game for the biggest club in the world.

Some journo's on Twitter saying Fab deal is done. £29m upfront, £6 m conditional, Fab giving up £5 m in bonuses so £40m in total.

Cesc deal seems to be gaining some momentum!

"A senior source at Arsenal tells BBC Sport all the funds generated by the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barca will be reinvested in new players." [Sauce]

I believe they're reporting that Fabregas is giving up £1m per year from his proposed contract with Barca and that will go to Arsenal instead. It's still not known whether Fabregas will get his 'loyalty' payment for not officially requesting a transfer.

Important topic of the day - how are people pronouncing "De Gea"? :p

I've heard English commentators/journalists pronounce it both the Spanish (De Hear) and English way (De Gear).

Whilst I don't doubt Fabregas is worth that much in today's market, and arguably far more, what is he really going to offer Barcelona that'll make them that much better? Given the players they've got in midfield and the likes of Thiago coming through the ranks I honestly don't think they need him.

Fabregas is a top top player, 24, Spanish. he does the neat things and he can also show some pace and burst through the midfield. Scores the odd goal too;) that's why they want him.
Not doubting that, I'm just not sure how they would play him that would make them so much better. I can't see him replacing Xavi any time soon and Iniesta certainly won't lose his place so that leaves Biscuits. Would they drop him and play Fabregas deeper?

Now that he's joined Utd, De Gayer :)

Agreed. The money would be much better used on a defender and/or keeper.
