** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

I wonder what the press conference will be about tomorrow. Wenger would have to be bat **** crazy not to accept £20,000,000+ for a player in the last year of his contract, don't get me wrong I think Nasri is a decent player on his day, but he's wildly inconsistent, not very good at all in the Cesc role and spent January onwards doing sweet F.A for the team. He's a selfish, nasty little ****er and is far too inconsistent. We could bring someone in for the money from his sale, maybe even someone who isn't still in nappies or isn't a striker being forced to play on the wing.

I really hope Fabregas doesn't go because we're gonna be totally screwed if he does. I don't have the same faith in Wenger as I used to, and I don't think he will spend much if any of the money that we'd get from those two potential transfers. I'm no manager but if it was me I'd be looking to bring in a world class midfielder straight away to replace Fabregas, but I get the feeling Wenger will bring some semi-proved kid and just expect us to get on with it.

He gets this season with my backing and if he shows no further ambition than remaining in the top four then I'm gonna lose my patience with him. Not that I'm complaining about supporting a top four team who are consistently playing CL footie, but it's ridiculously frustrating when you're so close to be able to win things but your manager is too stubborn or retarded to make that little bit of extra effort in order to put your team in the best position possible.

Less of that talk.

Not far wrong though

Yeah wasn't a bad performance at all, your keeper looked pretty good and you could probably do with someone to give Madine some decent supply (missed out on Euell who went to cafc).

Oh and officially the Prem isn't a selling point so no stupid transfers are coming in and Blackburn are going to finish bottom

Yeah, Madine needs more support and we need better balls to him, remember this wasn't our first eleven and we have Prutton who is our play maker / deep lying play maker and gives much better service then tonight suggested.

O'Donnell in goal, he's only young and is pretty good back up, not ready for the first team mind.

What I remember watching you guys, bossing the EPL with Di Canio, how the mighty have fallen,

Why be like that if you got promoted you would be straight down :D

Indeed, we were really stupid with money; much like Leeds were and several other clubs have been since. I'm sure we have learn't our lesson (the fans certainly have)

Di Canio, aye, everyone's favourite mental fascist :o

As for going up? I like to think we'd be going up with a far better squad then we have now and would like to think we'd improve if we got in to the Premier League, but I'm under no impression we'd boss it again (except if I'm on FM ;) ) and I like many other Wednesday fans know our place, it's always hard when clubs fall on such hard times but I like to think it brings the fans (season ticket holders mainly) closer together.

Yeah and other than Bent nothing at all, that's what I'm saying.

What do you expect from Villa?!

In his reign, he's financed moves for Reo-Coker £8m, Cuellar £7m, Curtis Davies £10m, Downing £11m, Ashley Young £10.5m, Milner £12m, Dunne £5m, Collins £5m, Delph £6m, Petrov £6.5m, Knight £3.5m, Sidwell £5m, Heskey £3.5m, Shorey £3m, Warnock £5m, Bent £24m and Makoun £6m to name but a few...

How on Earth can anyone accuse Randy Lerner of not investing? Unfortunately for him, aside from the likes of Young, Downing and Milner who moved for substantial profit, and Bent who is fantastic, O'Neal squandered a fair amount of money on sub-standard players - Davies, Reo-Coker, Cuellar...

Is Wengers press conference tomorrow actually about transfers?

Or is not just the pre-game interview?

Obviously they will be questions over Fabregas and Nasri but thought it might just be to name his squad for the game etc and state why certain players are missing.

No, he has invested!

17 players and it gets you what?

RvP, Vermaelen and Gibbs are all fit to start to season, Wilshere is in a boot and is still out. [Arsenal.com]

It's starting to look we could lose both Nasri and Cesc, the latter being the only one I care about. Any team that loses a player of Cesc's calibre is going to be worse off, even if you're United/Chelsea! I really don't have any confidence in Wenger to bring in an established world class midfielder to replace him. We've been told that the money will be re-invested in the team but I just don't believe that that means new signings. I could live with going into the new season with the exact same team, but now that we've lost our best LB and Cesc we really need to step up. Enrique at LB would have been a decent and realistic signing, Gibbs/Traore are too lightweight and just can't defend. The 'Song' role still needs to be filled by someone who isn't a foul magnet and FFS we need to actually play a formation that utilises the players we have!

In: Jenkinson + Gervinho + Chamberlain
Out: Clichy, Cesc*, Nasri*, Bendtner*, Eboue*

*Almost out the door.

:( Not a good window so far.

I think Arsenal haven't had a good window at all.

I'm still of the opinion that they need to shift Almunia along too and bring in a better back up or a top class first choice keeper to organise the defence better, speaking of which another centre back and a left back were a priority.

Again, as has been mentioned many times before they need a "holding midfielder" like Song but just better.

They also, I think could do with bringing in another forward a natural poacher / goal scorer, I do think Van Persie is a good forward but suffers from injuries and is the only "real" striker they have.

I think Jenkinson / Chamberlain are very underwhelming signings to be honest, Arsenal needed to bring in players who can improve the first team and help them bring a League title to the club, they've however imho gone backwards.

Nasri as many people have said won't be missed too much, I agree with DM and other Arsenal fans when they say he's too inconsistent and his attitude is awful (it certainly is in the French national side)

What was wrong with Enrique, Cahill, <insert goalkeeper here>, holding midfielder much like oh I don't know Diarra and Flamini and a poacher in the shape of Rossi?

So my prediction is , if we don't get sniejder and start the season poor , all we are gonna get is united fans saying " we should have signed sniejder blah blah blah , we need top class midfielder"

These papers are playing with people's emotions :( , 48 hours are up and now they say uniteds pulled the plug, instead of saying sorry we made that story up because we are evil.

there was a little rumour that IF Sneijder deal didnt get done SAF/Gill would go after the young Scandinavian midfielder at Ajax? but that Bergkamp could well be persuading him to join Arsenal as soon as Fab /Nasri go

No idea if there is even an ounce of truth in it though, but as Modric doesnt fancy Manchester (more fool him :D) and Sneijder is proving to be too expensive.....while one game doesnt prove anything, might as well attempt the season as we are, I cant see Utd dropping out of the top 3 even if the midfield does fall apart - and hopefully without any additions the young talent that is already within the club will flourish during a successful season

Or another way of putting it - are the stories "delayed" on purpose (just to fill column inches) and Utd pulled the plug even before the US tour - as some speculated - or were there really further talks in the last two days.......either way it doesnt look like Utd are going to get the "headline" signing people were hoping for / dreaming about.....but at least there are Fergie 's Fledglings Mk II to discuss instead

I can't see Bergkamp persuading him to join Arsenal. Theres hardly an influx of ex players rushing to be at Wenger's side, either playing or coaching. A few have been happy to take advantage of our facilities but thats about it.

Ultimately if he's good enough, Bergkamp has a duty to do best by Ajax, which means the most money, which means someone other than Arsenal.

I honestly can't understand how in this window and in the last year, Diaby and Song have played more than Bendtner/Eboue, and the later two leave while we still pay the first two a ridiculous amount to be utter crap.

Sure, Wenger won't play Bendtner/Eboue, so they are just a drain on the wages, but theres simply no excuse for Diaby to be at the club, useless going forward, useless defensively, Eboue plays in a central role for his country and has done for us, he's better defensively, offensively.

Rosicky, while I liked him, and he used to be very good, he's no good, 1/2 good games a year, misses half of most seasons, and is annonymous in more games than and ruddy expensive.

Wenger's been running Arsenal based on emotion rather than ambition/ability, Rosicky, Denilson, Diaby, if he'd done this badly at ANY other top 8 club, he'd have gone long ago.

He's a pretty good player, was reading about him t'other day and then he was mentioned on a podcast I listen to.

Had a snoop about on FM as you, looks pretty good.
