With Nasri and Fab going, why would other players want to join arsenal? OK they have the CL this year, but selling their best players really shows lack of ambition. Gary Cahill is probably thinking twice - my money would be on him joining pool to be honest. We are certainly splashing the cash - maybe a player + cash deal might be done.

heres hoping anyway :p

Liverpool need to sell players.

Liverpool need to sell players.

my biggest gripe is getting henderson when we could have used that money to get cahill - we have more than capable midfielders in maxi, spearing, aqualani, and the others that have been added this summer. henderson really wasn't needed.

But yes now we have to sell to do any further business this summer

Anyone seen the latest dribble The Sun are spouting regarding Arsenal?

Nasri + Cash for Tevez :D

EDIT: It is very awkward reading posts with GreenLizards sig underneath. He was an Arsenal fan and I keep thinking when people say "Our Team" they are referring to Arsenal.

I think Maxi was up for sale. Spearing could go on loan, Aqualani should be sold on the basis than non Liverpool fans struggle spelling his name (he is clearly there if an offer is made).

It doesnt leave much.

Vela is off out on loan, so that's another player for Arsenal gone. And there is no way you should even count Denilson as a footballer, who by the way got sent off the other day. :D

I don't believe Maxi was/is up for sale, there's little to no sense in loaning out Spearing and it's Aquilani ;)

It cant be any worse than the pre-season.

Pre season results don't matter. They have very little baring on a clubs final position in the League.

Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all going for a top four place.

Arsenal have gotten weaker, Chelsea and Tottenham have pretty much stayed the same and United, L'pool and City have all improved.

Liverpool fans struggle with spelling full spot:D

BOLLLLLLLLLLL - absolutely brilliant

edit - personally I think its still to be decided whether Manchester Utd have strengthened. Even ignoring the outfield experience from the squad that has been lost, and to some extent replaced, the HUGE question mark is VDS >> VDG (De Gea's actual nickname for those not in the know), he WILL become an excellent keeper but as people have already said it may take some time to get there, so its likely this position is weakened for some or all of this season.

I'm pretty sure I could win the Spanish League and Champions League if I was given the Barcelona managers job tomorrow.

I'm being deadly serious. They are that good, the players know everything about each other, I'd just sit back and watch the show.

lol

did arsenal not beat them? now look at arsenal's team, on paper it should have been a walkover. guardiola does a lot at the club, your an idiot if you think otherwise. just look at mourinho and real madrid, madrid have arguably a far better squad, do you think he just sits back and watches?

barca have an amazing first 11 with zero talent on the bench, real madrid have an amazing first 11 and an amazing backup 11. yet barca beat them all the time, how? guardiola is a very good coach

Gerrard, Downing, Cole, Henderson, Adam, Lucas, Meireles, Shelvey, plus it wouldn't surprised me to see Kuyt deployed on the right wing.

Not really, he's a rightback primarily and we've just bought another rightback (Jenkinson). Even if we work to the assumption that Fabregas, Nasri, Eboue, Bendtner and Almunia were all sold, we'd still have a full squad:

Hawkes (Fabianski, Mannone)

Sagna (Jenkinson)
Gibbs (Traore)
Vermaelen (Djourou)
Koscielny (Squillacci, Miquel)

Frimpong (Song, Eastmond)
Wilshire (Diaby, Denilson on loan)
Ramsey (Rosicknote, Lansbury)

Arshavin (Chamberlain, Ryo)
Van Persie (Chamakh, Vela)
Gervinho (Walcott, Campbell)

So even if we sell FIVE players without buying anyone new, that's a 30 man squad plus additional youth if required (Shea, Afobe, Watt, Coquelin, Hoyte etc)

Not the strongest squad the club has ever had, but certainly should have enough numbers to field 11 plus 7 subs every game.

Sagna is balls, Jenkinson shows promise but no idea how he'd fair in real EPL games yet, Djourou, Squillaci, Miquel aren't good enough, Gibbs has had one good game in the last year, in preseason against meh opposition, Traore is completely worthless.

Frimpong, Song, Eastmond are all incapable, Song is awful and the other two are trying to copy him, complete failure.

Wilshires fantastic, Diaby and Denilson(if he ever comes back, I pray we aren't paying a penny of his wages but suspect we are) are woeful, Lansbury really hasn't shown enough though he's better than some of our midfielders, Rosicky is pointless now and very expensive to have sitting on the bench, Ramsey has a crapload of potential but isn't there yet.

Of our front "three" a grand total of none of them will be playing in their favoured position........ yay. RVP is incredibly good in a front pair, but can't lead the line, and dropped deep in every tough game last year which stopped us creating anything. Gervinho might be great, but won't be played as a striker Arshavin is wasted out wide mostly, Theo is rubbish on the wing, Ryo/Chamakh won't get played, Vela is being sent off yet again and Campbell I give almost no chance of getting games much like most of our strikers.

On that list, those who should be sold/moved on, Eastmond, Song, Rosicky, Theo(if he won't play him upfront), Vela(if Wenger won't play him), Traore(5 years, crap every year, why's he here), Djourou, Squillaci, Diaby, Denilson and if Gibbs doesn't learn defend in the next year. None of these guys are anywhere near close enough for a title winning team(or Wenger simply won't play them so a waste).

Ryo, Vela, Ramsey and possibly Frimpong if he starts training under a real DM, could be real players. That leaves us with a thread bare squad relying on players who either haven't played in the league before, or Wenger simply won't give a chance. Some REAL quality, mostly being wasted. Of Eboue, Bendtner, Cesc, Nasri, Clichy, we aren't replacing a single one of them with a better player(to date).

I didnt mean results.

May ended with "we will spend money" for Arsenal fans.

We are on the eve on the season starting and the Samaritans have 60,000 season ticket holders.

Thanks.

Everyone knows they aren't unbeatable.

Real Madrid have a very good squad but the players don't play as well together naturally as the Barca team do. Nor do they have the team spirit.

barca have an amazing first 11 with zero talent on the bench, real madrid have an amazing first 11 and an amazing backup 11. yet barca beat them all the time, how? guardiola is a very good coach

I never said he wasn't a good coach, just that the Barca first 11 could probably beat a lot of teams without a manager. Which they could, they could manage themselves and still win. I'm sure they're not the only team that applies to though.

You're such an obnoxious and horribly clueless person by the way, I don't think I've ever seen you formulate a reply that wasn't to start an argument or a poor attempt at trying to 'educate' someone with your mighty knowledge based on the now out of date FIFA 10.
