barca have an amazing first 11 with zero talent on the bench,
Zero talent on the bench? Mascherano, Keita, Afellay, Thiago and probably Pedro, now that Sanchez has joined them, are all likely to be on the bench. They've got very little defensive cover but the people that say they've only got a first 11 and nothing else are thick tbh.

Busquets and Mascherano are pretty good center backs too :)

Here's an interview with SAF on MUTV - it touches on why Obertan was sold, what's happened with Bebe, a bit about or loans, it also has SAF talking about further signings and the status of our injuries etc.

For anyone that doesn't want to watch it -

Newcastle were interested in Obertan end of last season, they kept going on at us about him and Obertan wanted first team football, SAF decided that we had enough quality in the squad and we had a lot of players at his age. Easy to make his mind up in the end.

Bebe cruciate ligament, 6-7 months out, two operations and then most likely going to rehabilitate in Portugal where Anderson did his.

There won't be any signings he says, all sorts of speculation, we aren't making any moves and we're happy with the squad. There may be one or two loan deals of some more younger players out.

Evra doubtful, Fletcher & Valencia out but training well, play in reserves on Monday. Hernandez a week away from training, Carrick niggled achilies in training and should be OK.

Busquets and Mascherano may cope ok at centre back for Barca but that's only because of the midfield they have ahead of them, they'd be soundly shown up elsewhere imo.

So we may all agree on Barce do have good squad depth regardless of them putting CM's in defence etc etc.

If no other club can match them they don't need an outstanding subs bench when they have great utility players. I bet Pique would be great up front.

You're such an obnoxious and horribly clueless person by the way, I don't think I've ever seen you formulate a reply that wasn't to start an argument or a poor attempt at trying to 'educate' someone with your mighty knowledge based on the now out of date FIFA 10.

lulownt.

wait, video means no Sneijder? What the hell am I gonna do with these 32 packs of kleenex I shipped in?!

Mascherano played right back a number of times for us and did very well there. Think he's covered for Alves a few times at Barca and not looked out of place so he's very capable playing as a defender.

£12 million + N'Gog for Gary Cahill. Being reported in Click Liverpool.

Nothing from Tony Evans on twitter yet so I shall take it with a pinch of salt. Fantastic summer if we can finish off with him in the bag.

I think that would be a great move for Liverpool, not sure to believe it or not as these player exchange deals very rarely come off.

surely Liverpool should be paying the club extra to have them take ngog off the books - not knocking a significant amount from Cahill's transfer

(if Arsenal dont at least try and bid a straight cash deal they are completely nuts)

Cahill does look like a really solid player would be a good signing for Liverpool or a great signing for Arsenal, think he'd probably be better then Lescott at City too.
