Cahill does look like a really solid player would be a good signing for Liverpool or a great signing for Arsenal, think he'd probably be better then Lescott at City too.

Would he be automatic first pick for Liverpool (given what they have spent, and what he is costing......its concevable he might not be automatc)

(through gritted teeth) - Its pretty clear which team is currently "on the up" and which isnt though...

It's a real shame about Arsenal's signings this season. They were only a few players off being League winners, they've take such big steps back this season.

Liverpool are on the up, but I'll reserve judgement on both until I've been able to see them play ~5 games or so.

His wage demands would be comical let alone the fact he wants to move 'closer to his family' / somewhere the average temperature is >20 degrees.

The Rag has it.

I would love it to be true but probably not. Then again, the way Wenger has been quiet all summer. Meh, same as always :(

Would be grand to have:

Ryo-RVP-Tevez
Ramsey- Song-Wilshire

One can dream I guess.

I'd **** myself laughing if he did end up signing for them, he's an absolute merc. 2 years at each club then finds a reason to get out. disgusting.

obviously not going to happen, but it would be an hilarious story if so.

Everton have had a loan bid for Sturridge rejected. Chelsea apparently want £3m... obviously there is no way we could pay that.

Moyes must be pulling his ****ing hair out!

Mascherano played right back a number of times for us and did very well there. Think he's covered for Alves a few times at Barca and not looked out of place so he's very capable playing as a defender.

Any half decent target man should dominate him in the air though.

I don't think chelsea want to loan him anyway. He has a fantastic pre-season and there are no stronger players in his position (right of front 3). He will get a fair bit of game time this season and could become a regular starter.

Very worrying if the quotes are true. We have a new CB with verm coming back as he only played 5 games....

Really???!???!!

Please say that is just a transfer ploy keeping your cards to your chest.

I was in half a mind to stick sturridge in my fantasy team in the hope he would get a loan somewhere. £3m and pay his wages?

**** off chelsea.

Guessing there is some option to buy clause, so £3m loan fee and then £10m or something. Don't know about the wages, I've only seen the £3m bit around. I honestly can't see him getting in front of Lukaku now they've nearly got him in.

Oh and lolololol :D at Soccer AM Sneijder piece!
