Fabregas, Clichy gone.

Nasri, Bender and Eboue all waiting on moves.

Great transfer window so far for Arsenal :(

Getting rid of 2 of them is good business. Clichy should have gone a few seasons ago, and Eboue is nothing more than an good expensive backup option.

Serious questions have to be asked of Wenger if by the end of this transfer window, he has sold key first team players from last season and not replaced any of them. I know Ferguson is stubborn, but this refusing to spend money at Arsenal will continue to hinder Wenger and the team until they are in a position where they aren't in the champions league anymore and the damage has been done.

2011. The year Arsenal ****ed up and failed to make the top 10 ;)

On a serious note I no it was only against Newcastle on saturday but I was there and you looked good against us. Only thing that was really lacking was the final ball or the finish. I think the main thing is getting a CM in but you also need a new striker desperately as you need to be taking chances if your going to end anywhere near the top 4.

As I've said before Payton talks a lot of crap. I'm not really sure how he'd know at this stage the true structure of the deal

75% of fee's received have to be reinvested in the team. So they would have to give him the money. Whether he spends it or not...

The structure of the deal has been confirmed by Barca, has it not? And it's exactly as Tim Payton said it was a few days ago. He can't be that bad.

And 75% has to be spent on transfers/wages etc? Or 75% has to be put into a seperate account and can't be spent on loan repayments etc? I suspect it's the latter and that the board could just stick the money in a seperate account if they're not happy for Wenger to spend it now.

We played Wolves a few seasons back (maybe the season they went up) and he was by some distance the best player that game for Wolves.

Bye Cesc. :'(

Don't forget we could lose 5 members of the first team squad for the ACoN too!

Traore, Frimpong, Song, Gervinho and Chamakh

I'm not surprised at Wengers lack of action so far, I'm more annoyed that now I don't have anyone good at free kicks when I play FIFA as Arsenal.
Rosicky's got pretty good stats for that, I seem to remember.

And he immediately told someone else he wasn't sure if that Cesc would get his 'loyalty' bonus.

It's called the TPA. http://www.arsenaltrust.org/recent-news.php?article=332 So basically it cover 'Squad improvement' So signings/improved contract deals. So yes they could I guess stop Wenger spending it, but that would be stupid!

They don't need to stop him spending it, he's not going to spend more then a few million on a 12 year old french kid.

Bye Eboue, I will miss your tiger suit:

The point I was making (which you quoted) was that no board would allow a manager who's job is unsecure to spend big money (and I don't think that 75% agreement will change anything). So if Wenger is given money to replace Fabregas (and Nasri) then imo his position must be a lot more secure than a few Arseanl fans have suggested.
And he immediately told someone else he wasn't sure if that Cesc would get his 'loyalty' bonus.

Ok, I only saw his tweet mentioning the structure of the deal and saying he would get a loyalty payment. He's since been proved correct on the structure of the deal and has again said that Fabregas would still get his loyalty payment.

edit: Correct me if I'm wrong but there's been no announcement by Arsenal stating that Fabregas handed in an official transfer request (like Torres did when we sold him) has there?

Eboue won't be allowed to leave. Not with Nasri probably going too, and there being only a short time left till the window closes.

Plus, the general lack of good, available players.

Declared himself for Ghana, he wasn't in the squad for the canceled game at Watford last week, but I believe he did get a late call up but the club say he couldn't go. What with Essien out and possibly not fit, it's entirely possibly he could get called up..

I think the transfer Window changes how that work. Previously you'd hold back money and see how the manager goes, and if they fail you can bring in a new manager, and he can then spend that money. With the Window in place and Arsenal needing numbers I think he'll be told to spend it

The only people at this point who'll know are Darren Dein, AFC, and Fabregas. Stupid really isn't it, he didn't ask for a transfer so should get the payment, but
Wenger said:
However, we understand Cesc's desire to move
that's pretty much the same..

There are LOADS of good players available, there are very few absolutely top draw players available, theres an absolute crapload of players MUCH better than our starting DM's, one CB, left and right back, left and right midfield.

Arsenal can very very easily strengthen at minimal cost, because Song is completely useless, Gibbs, does have the occasional good game, many poor games, but simply shouldn't be trusted to be fit for a season. If we don't buy a left back, I think that will make me more angry than anything else.

Gibbs is probably the second most injury prone player behind Rosicky, with RVP/Theo insanely close behind.

Who played when Theo was injured, Bendtner, Theo has already been injured twice I believe since preseason started(and sucks balls anyway). So with Eboue, Bendtner and probably Nasri going, when Theo gets injured who the **** is going to play? He doesn't trust Arshavin and Gervinho, I'm really not sure he's an option.

Realistically if Gibbs and Theo get injured, we're insanely short at left back and either wing. Traore is woeful, even if Gibbs did grow into the role and got good, we need a real left back as cover or flat out first team.

Arsenal should plan for injuries, but we're working around Wengers inability to recognise who is good enough. Wenger is going to buy backup to Gibbs and Theo, when those two should barely be classed as backup and we should be buying first team players for those positions. I think he's going to stick with Song and Frimpong for DM, despite neither being good enough. He spent 12mil on Gervinho, he's expecting to play him a lot and Arshavin now and then. Not sure Jenkinson is good enough as backup on the right, again we need a better right back anyway but won't get one.

I have absolutely zero faith in Wengers ability to replace these players, mostly backup/bench players he'll be buying, most of them will suck balls, if he buys one/two first teamers, I simply don't think he knows who to buy any more.

joke so far really.
