Apparently Arsenal have a buy-back clause and 50% sell on clause for Cesc. He didn't take his loyalty payment by all account either (£4m)

Lot of good that'll do since he'll probably spend the rest of his career at Barca.

Ill give it till jan till Arsenal fans create the next should Wenger leave thread :p

I made one lasts season nd it got closed. whats the point? People laughed at me all hailing mighty wenger the untouchable.

Anways good one cesc. u made teh rigth decions. **** playing under wenger and the current board. Cesc if you want to become a true legend, you have to do it in a top club and arsenal are NOT a top club.

Next up Nasri, followed my RVP in january or next summer transfer window with possibly Wilshere following suit.

Dont blame any of oour best players leaving us. Who the **** wants to play for a club who only cares about finishing 4th? Sorry but if your a player wishing to advance in there career by u know, challenging for top honours and occasionaly winning it, Arsenal are not the club anymore.

Arsenal can now be classed in the same catagory as Spurs and liverpool.

All Hail to the mighty Wenger, the best manager ever in the world who always is right with his tactics and decisions and no other manager in the world can do a better job

True, but maybe when Pep Guardiola takes over at Arsenal in the next few years he'll come back...;)

Guardiola is the favourite as the next Arsenal boss according to several bookmakers!

Gotta say much respect to Cesc - you can really see how much his time at arsenal meant to him in the press conference. He's almost on the verge of tears; its obvious he has a love for arsenal, he must be having feelings of guilt (to the fans) and joy all at the same time joining his boyhood club.

A lot of people say he wont get into the team - to be honest i think he made a massive difference for spain in the world cup - he can do the same for Barca too; Messi is going to have a field day

Why do you bother supporting Arsenal?

Seriously, explain it to me. Tell me something you actually like about the club. You hate the manager. You hate the board. You don't think the players are good enough. You don't seem to keen on the stadium. Why bother? You could probably just go and take up DIY or something, you'd be a lot less angry.

I wouldn't...

**** finishing 4th regularly. What's the point if you win nothing nor spend the money earned on decent players?
I just came all over the hizzle!!!

GTFI COME ON YOU SPURS!!! :D :D :D

Good to see you used it well then.

EDIT: Oh come on. "No I would not like my team to regularly finish higher in the league than they do now and participate in the Champions League more often" is pretty silly, isn't it. All your talk of aiming for the top and I'm pretty sure you haven't challenged for the title as much as we have in our "rubbish" last six years.

I do not, but the sentiment remains. What's the point in settling for merely finishing in the top 4 year after year?

That's modern football. Spurs are doing the same although they are pretending they are going for bigger things. They know what the current budgets are now the billionaires have started playing and How much extra it would require to go from fourth to champions. A stupid amount of money that makes little business sense to try to break into.

If by some miracle bill gates was to buy spurs next year it would take 200 million more to get them the title minimum. I can see why an owner would be happy to just continue to qualify for the champions league in fourth and not spend the kind of money to take it to the next level and hope they get the breaks with what they have.

When the spending was at the levels when jack walker brought the title it made some sort of economical sense, these days it's billionaires wasting cash for whatever reason.

Someone brought an interesting point up.

Liverpool have gone how many years since winning the league. Manchester United went 22 years. Arsenal have only gone 6. Not the end of the world. I am curious as to what our accounts will look like next month. Unless we are debt free I will be quite angry I guess.

There are 88 teams in the league that would happily have Arsenals problems....

stop whinging

Slowly moving into debt, having a huge wage expenditure, moving backwards down the table, and one place drop in the table could plunge us quite quickly into 20-30mil losses every season.......... please list these clubs individually, who would happily be looking at making that loss every season.

The only clubs I can name that could absorb those losses, are moving the other way up the table, and are above us already, and already make 3-5 times that in losses.

We aren't currently making a lose though are we. You are assuming that we are never going to play CL football again or have a good enough team to compete for anything.

Top Ten clubs 2011

Real Madrid: 438.6m euros
Barcelona: 398.1m euros
Man Utd: 349.8m euros
Bayern Munich: 323m euros
Arsenal: 274.1m euros
Chelsea: 255.9m euros
AC Milan: 235.8.m euros
Liverpool: 225.3m euros
Inter Milan 224.8m euros
Juventus: 205m euros

So everyone below the top five would surely like to be in Arsenals position as in club stability minus the obvious sugardaddy clubs

I dislike him more and more.

To think Motty called him "He really is the best player in the World"

Motty's lost it.
