** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

I feel ashamed of posting in here:( i'm only a level 12 Human Paly:(

Any tips would be great?

Haven't play for a while.

If you go prot, you'll never have to wait for dungeon queues. If you go holy, you'll be rolling in gear - no other class/spec uses +int plate. If you go ret, you'll be mostly sub-par DPS unless you're pretty good, you'll have long queue times and you'll fight over every bit of gear that drops, but you'll have the most fun :p

Ret pally is my main spec in WoW - strange, since I normally play casters in most games, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to play :).

Edit: Buy yourself an authenticator, or use an authenticator app from a smartphone. It makes a lot fo sense if you're intending to invest time in the game.

Cheers, but is it safe? I've heard the horror stories about hacking etc.

Cheers for the reply.

Dave.

Being in a guild of itself (even if it's a levelling guild of people who mostly don't know each other at all) isn't unsafe. However, one of the main reasons accounts get hacked has to do with guild websites/community sites. A lot of players use their battle.net account email and password for their guild website account. Guild websites may be quite easy to hack and store login details w/o encryption, so the hackers get loads of emails and passwords, try them out in wow and very often that works.

Therefore: (1) don't use the same login details for multiple sites and (2) get an authenticator!

As for other tips, enjoy the ride :D! Between revamped quests 1-60, LFG dungeons and BGs the levelling experience in wow right now is great imo.

Take your time and take advantage of dual spec (you can now have 2 talent setups and switch between them) and the fact that palas can fulfill all 3 roles. Try out tanking, healing and dps and give pvp a go. That way you might have a better idea what you want to do when you get to lvl 85.

Spec into Protection if you want to have good survivability with decent damage output. Being a tank will get you instant dungeons using the dungeon finder. If you would like to play a tank, my advice is to start soon and start practising and getting to know your abilities etc.

However, if you want to be a good healer, spec holy. It doesn't have the greatest damage output, but you can dungeon level until 30 so that you can get retribution as a secondary spec, or you could just start as retribution then change. However, you'll want to learn how to heal effectively quickly, so don't ignore a few guides on the internet, they often help.

It's you're guild and your rules but what is the point in making others from this forum apply for social spots within an ocuk guild.

It's not strictly necessary, but it helps a lot in tracking - the guild is quite active and having an open application will get the officers keeping an eye out for you, rather than you keeping an eye out for the officers.

Just had a nice hour farming session.

Stacks of cloth are going for around 80g on Silvermoon so aslong as they sell then there's just over 1700g. Not counting the cloth I find in the chests :D

Also got good amount of scrap and weapons i've picked up so I should bring in over 2000g for an hours work :)

Bit of a long shot, but anyone know a guild that raids at the weekend ? I work longish hours during the week, so can't commit to too much Mon - Thurs.

I play a survival hunter in a small guild of mates, but most can't play at the moment due to families or work commitments, so I'm getting a bit bored with no raiding going on.

I've played since (late) vanilla, cleared BT during TBC ( on my Shaman), downed the LK but not done an awful lot of raiding recently - gear level is 358.

Character is called Nerfbat on Emerald Dream.

Cheers.

You might consider migrating to a really high pop server/faction like Silvermoon/Alliance. They (or at least used to in Wrath) have a bunch of PUG raids starting in trade pretty much all the time.

Perhaps it's just me being paranoid, i've read peoples account being hacked so they can't log in, gold being stolen etc, are there any safe-guards/tips to watch out for?

Get yourself the Mobile Authenticator App. That's the best way to minimize the risk of losing your account to some other person. Mine got hacked about 2 months ago about a week or two after I had renewed from a year out. Logged on and pretty much all my characters had been emptied.

Checked the new character they made, and looked in their guild bank. That was a nice bonus of 28k gold, quickly nabbed that before the character got booted out of the guild. And then to top it all off, Blizzard reinstated all the gear and gold that they had taken as well. :D Unfortunately though, I lost one of my professions on my main - had maxed mining and jewelcrafting (that was painful to level...) and ended up with mining and herbalism.

Blizzard are very good at giving you stuff back should the worst happen, but as I said, get yourself the authenticator ;)

Whereabouts were you farming?

Might ding 85 on my shaman today, although i was planning to sleep the full day after not sleeping since thursday.

You can do some awesome farming with potion of treasure finding in Deepholm. I do it on my frost mage, just round up massive groups of trogs and aoe them down.

core of ripeness is still awesome apok :)

Did you level a lot via pvp, pretty much every guide i read now says to level in pvp is the way to go, you basically end up jp capped and honor capped by the time your 85 thanks to the old honor/jp conversion.

Cant earn JP till level 80 but can earn honor from level 10 *** :)

Just levelled from 80-85 in dungeons mainly, only earned enough justice points by the time i levelled up to buy the tier gloves.

I'm finding healing quite fun aslong as i don't get landed with a bunch of moronic dps'ers who cant avoid, avoidable damage.
