Young went for a fair chunk. His price being lower arguably being down to the fact it wasn't a transfer between two direct rivals (they're league rivals, but not top four rivals), and the financial position of the club.
.

£16m (in one sense) is a decent price for both clubs in Young's case - mature experienced player, British caps in a British league , who if we are to be believed wanted to move to Utd for years prior to the transfer

Arsenal are probably getting a lot more for a player likely to play less senior games, simply because City can afford it so they are throwing money at the problem rather than being patient and forcing the transfer through

DM. Personally I still rate Nasri as a player. And love if he stayed but only for the right reasons but as it goes I don't think he ever has a future at Arsenal again now so I hope we get as much as possible.

I also think he will get a lot of games at City. Not as many as somewhere like Utd or Arsenal but still a lot of games.

If we get in Hazard for his replacement I would be over the moon. Quoted as available for £26m. BUY BUY BUY!

Before Aguero I'd think he might get a decent number of games with Balotelli seemingly a with a question mark over his head, bans, fitness/injurys, attitude. You'd think Silva, Dzeko and Tevez was a question mark and still is, if he'll be at City so Nasri in rotation for the wide roles. But with Aguero and Silva, potentially Tevez staying, those three would be basically undroppable and rotation will mostly be giving Dzeko games, and he's looked pretty impressive in his last couple games.

Powerful, decent in build up play, looks to maybe be getting more settled at City. I would never play Nasri ahead of any of those 4 players. Nor ahead of Toure or De Jong, and Mancini certainly doesn't seem to love playing a second attacking central mid so I just can't see him getting a lot of games now except in their "B/cup squad" .

Indeed, that Facebook thing that's doing the rounds is lazy. He won an FA Cup and Community Shield in his 8 seasons or whatever, so technically after one game for Barca he's done half of that, although he only played the final 10-15mins of a two-legged tie.

So by all account Arsenal have upto £82.5m to spend. How much will we spend...

Estimated summer transfer budget: £35m.
Players signed: Gervinho (£10.5m), Carl Jenkinson (£1m), Ryo Miyaichi (free), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£15m), Joel Campbell (£1m). Total = £27.5m.

Players sold: Gael Clichy (£7m), Cesc Fàbregas (£34m), Emmanuel Eboué (£4m), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (£1m). Total = £46m.

Likely leaving: Samir Nasri (£22m), Nicklas Bendtner (£7m). Total = £29m.

Estimated transfer budget after buying and selling players (including Nasri and Bendtner) :

£82.5m.

Raheem Stirling just said on twitter he cannot move on loan until he's 17. Guess he's not part of the Gary Cahill/N'Gog deal then.

Seems to be a lot of chatter that Gary Cahill isn't actually a part of the N'Gog deal either, which I do hope isn't true.

So spend £50m on Mata and Hazard. £10m on Mertesaker, £15m on Vertonghen and £7.5 on Odemwingie. Boom.
