Wouldn't it just be easier for you to quote one of your previous posts each time the thread gets a new page, might save you having to retype the exact same thing each time.

Whilst we are obviously not in a great position, I'm going to hold tight to see what the Pool/Udinese/Utd results are before passing judgement on Wenger. Despite the weakness of our squad, it would be just like us to get something out of these games. Plus by then we'll see if Wenger has brought anyone in.

No, I'd like us to lose so Wenger gets fired, his buying record has become pretty awful, Gervinho, so far Hleb looks like he was better, and Hleb couldn't get a game at Birmingham. I don't really "want" us to lose, I want to win 38 games, but Wenger staying just seems bad for everyone, including him.

I have zero faith in Wenger bringing in the right people, I'd massively massively prefer a new manager to spend the £80mil on players we need rather than Wenger spend it on players we don't, but also leaving us with more guys on stupid wages who don't want to leave, and the next manager with £80mil less to spend. Wenger can still just about be remembered for his first fantastic spell at the club and we can forget the crap 6 years. Soon enough he'll have been at Arsenal longer being crap than being good, at that point his reputation will be one of mostly failure.

The longer we take to get rid of him, the worse Arsenal end up, the worse league position, the worse Wengers reputation is and the harder it will be to attract a top manager.

Champs league this season and maybe getting Hiddink or someone would be quite possible, what about next year without champs league money, not a top 4 club potentially, with less money to spend and wages needing to be cut with a bigger squad of dross...... attracting a top manager will be all the harder with every passing season.

A true fan would never want their club to lose, EVER. No matter the reason, you want your club to win every game they go into, to be as successful as can be. No matter who is in charge, you want them to be successful.

I truly, honestly don't think you are a "fan" or "supporter" of Arsenal.

I really don't see his problem. If Wenger loses and doesn't buy then eventually he will lose his job. But there is no way he would be fired unless we lost most of our games up to christmas.

DM you should be enjoying the fact he isn't buying anyone as he is more likely to be fired. Win win for you. Not so good for us supporters.

Thats utterly retarded and makes no logical sense.

So if I think that losing 3 games would cause our board to fire out manager, get a new one, who "fixes" the team and wins maybe a random number 8 more games throughout the rest of the season than Wenger would. So in my scenario we win more...... thats wrong.

Get over yourself, thats what I believe, Wenger is dragging us down, the sooner we stop getting dragged down by a clueless manager the sooner we start winning more.

You also managed to not quote the part where I said I don't actually WANT us to lose, I just think it might be the only way the board could fire him, if he's truly incompetant, got us in this threadbare situation ALL OF HIS OWN DOING, and then it also costs us points and the champs league, the board will likely act.

Basically the quicker Wenger goes, the more parts of a team will still be salvageable. Compared to 6 seasons ago where his decline was obvious, and 4 years ago when almost any other board in the country would have moved on with another manager, we have barely a team left to salvage.

If someone came in with 500mil to spend on whoever we liked, 6 years ago, it would be 2-3 new players back to the old formation and a quality squad to build on, 3 years ago, it would be 4-5 players, ditch some of the rubbish, back to the old formation, still plenty of quality. Today, all the trash would need to go, half the first team and most of the back up, we're talking about keeping RVP, Verm, keeper, Wilshire, Ramsey, Bendtner, Vela, and giving AOC a chance.

In another month thats likely to be down another player, in another year I can see RVP and Verm wanting a move, Vela being gone and even more rubbish replacements.

The sooner we stop the rot the BETTER FOR THE TEAM.

What are you on about, why would losing loads up to xmas then being fired be useful, a new manager comes in to a midtable team no one wants to join?

Also, he IS BUYING people, he's buying rubbish players for ridiculous prices. 12mil for Gervinho, so far, seems like we've been screwed out of 8million, AOC for £7mil rising to whatever, who cares, not at all what we need.

I'm most worried that he will make some signings, and completely the wrong ones. Both our left backs are injured, the second Clichy was even being though about being sold any fans that know our team were instantly worried about Gibbs barely being able to go 3-4 games without getting injured and Traore being completely useless......... low and behold what happens.

I don't WANT us to lose, I think Wenger going is the ONLY way forward and I think we will lose anyway to Utd and Liverpool and probably Udinese. WE could have dropped 8 points in the first 3 games, purely because Wenger didn't forsee injuries to insanely injury prone players that most fans of most other clubs are aware of.

Can you imagine what DM made of a certain Thierry Henry when he joined. Played as a striker, and then didn't score for the first 8 games...

I don't think Wenger will be going any time soon sadly, he always seems to be able to do just enough to keep things from being a total disaster and just 'almost but not quite', although if he doesn't make any signings over the next week or so I truly believe we'll struggle with both top 4 status and getting to the advanced stages of any cup competition. The only good thing so far this season has been two clean sheets, however lucky we were to keep them.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is Pep get fed up of winning all the time at Barca and fancy a challenge trying to make us back into a title-winning side, which IMO would be more of an achievement than winning treble's with a side containing some of the worlds best players. We have a similar playing philosophy, albeit crapper, more direct and without the defensive work rate/ball-retention, so it would probably be a case of refining rather than having to remould completely. Bring Steve Bould up from managing the kids to teaching the main back four how to defend as well.

Maybe Pep could bring a few players with him as well.

Why?

What's Pat Rice done that's wrong? What's Steve Bould done that's correct (Liam Brady buys and picks the youth team)

Martin Keown should come in as a coach though.
