****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

If you install a ROM that isn't Cyanogen ROM (or based on it) then yes, the rest are all based on the stock ROM.

Great.

I'm liking the stock ROM interface etc etc, its pretty nice :)

Seen some mod roms with the HTC Sense and stuff, looks pretty good :)

And with you using your phone more than me i gather, is there a "Macro" mode for close-up photography

As i like taking pics up close and personal :)

i take it they still dont issue changelogs?

No aren't they leaks? I'm sure Samsung will let us know what's new though, when it's eventually released.

DefiantAsh, yea there's a macro mode, think it's in "focus mode".

You can manually set Macro mode or you can just get close to something and touch to focus, it will close focus without having to activate macro mode,

Found it :D

Made it one of my shortcuts :)

And i find it would be easier for macro when taking some close ups i've done previously.

Obviously not going to be spectacular but its great for a mobile phone :)

This camera is fricking amazing! Got a mad beading photo from my car this morning:

No screen burn issues for me. Timeout on 1minute

I have timeout on 30 seconds, automatic brightness and i just did the blue test and it seems as though the notifications bar has left some kind of burn on the screen. Where the bar would be, it is a very slightly lighter blue than the rest of the screen. Anyone else have this?

So has anyone heard any news about when the 2.3.4 update will be released in UK?
I'm talking about when it is out via KIES for phones on:
o2
Vodafone
T-Mobile
Orange
Three

It backs up everything except the contents of the microSD card and your user storage area (photos/videos etc). The entire state of the phone like a Norton Ghost image basically.

What does Kies backup then before a rom update?

I guess cwm backup that i've done after I flashed cf-root is the same as a nandroid backup?

On this phone yes same thing, CWM launches Clockwork rceovery which then creates the backup. you can restore via CWM as it reboots into recovery anyway.
